The 1.6 Commission didn't teach me anything new. Day 4

To all the people that know everything so they are not watching, did you know this?

T/F Two elected Republicans (Sen. Johnson (R-WI) and Rep. Biggs (R-AZ) attempted to facilitate the distribution of fake elector slates to the states and the Vice President.


Imo, the most impactful testimony was about the destruction of two peoples lives (private citizens that have done more than most here on DP to protect democracy-they worked on an election) because the President lied about them. At the very foundation, djt is a despicable human being.
 
Slightly OT....the Committee just announced a previously "unplanned" hearing for tomorrow PM. Evidently new information/evidence.

So you OK with the fact Trump tried to seat fake electors by pressuring local politicians, election officials and the DOJ to create alternate electors which he wanted Pence to enumerate? That's OK with you?

Really? Did Gore himself put plans in place to create fake "hanging chad" ballots. Did Gore pressure the Governor of FL or the election officers in FL? Did Gore ask the DOJ to just call the election corrupt and he would handle the rest? Trump himself did these things not his supporters.

That would be incorrect. While impeachable charges originate in the House, the impeachment takes place in the Senate. Number of senators involved today...zero.

Sounds like it may be in reaction to something that was revealed in the first four hearings...

Not even close to being accurate. Read some history. Gore lost in one state by 537 votes. Can you point to one point where Gore attempted to overthrow the election?

That alone, that he would mention them by name, perhaps says more about Trump's character than anything. It was akin to Sen. Joe McCarthy smearing a random staffer as belonging to the lefty National Lawyers Guild in an attempt to distract from his sins. To paraphrase Joseph Welch, "Have you no sense of decency, Donald?" Pretty obviously not.

A little touchy aren't you? I was just asking why an entire branch of government can repeatedly go after a former president who's not even in office any more.

That may or may not be true. Impeachment is not a judicial trial, and one impact of conviction is removing the ability to run for office again.
