PORT FOURCHON, La. (AP) — Photos show what appears to be a miles-long oil slick near an offshore rig in the Gulf of Mexico after Hurricane Ida, according to aerial survey imagery released Wednesday by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and reviewed by The Associated Press.

The government imagery, along with additional photos taken by the AP from a helicopter Tuesday, also show Louisiana port facilities, oil refineries and shipyards in the storm’s path where the telltale rainbow sheen typical of oil and fuel spills is visible in the water of bays and bayous.

Both state and federal regulators said Wednesday that they had been unable to reach the stricken area, citing challenging conditions in the disaster zone.

The NOAA photos show a black slick floating in the Gulf near a large rig with the name Enterprise Offshore Drilling painted on its helipad. The company, based in Houston, did not respond to requests for comment by phone or email Wednesday.

I wonder what they're waiting for? Maybe they can't get to the bayous, but they can get to the rig? I suppose it takes time to gather what they need to repair this, but oh dear, we don't need this again.

Lets hope that Biden doesn't follow Obama's example and impose an illegal off-shore oil drilling moratorium.

And outlaw hurricanes.

Anything moving at hurricane speeds is already in violation of speeding limits, but good luck trying to pull over a criminal hurricane. Like your typical leftist, they care nothing about the law.

Or science, which is odd given their claims otherwise.

He definitely lacks his predecessor’s talent for Sharpie meteorology.
You can leave off the qualifier.

Interesting that you say this now that the Democrats are the only ones interested in the upholding the law.
Sure, go ahead and attack and vandalize the Capitol (with the possible assistance of sitting Congress people) because you can't get over a Presidential Election loss, and shit and piss in the hallways and offices, it's not illegal.

Ah yes....lets make believe that climate change is not responsible for the severity of our wether and the continual destruction of the Temperate climate that has been a cornerstone if not even a lynchpin of US wealth, prosperity and security and that human contributions to climate change has not accelerated the pace of change.

Guess what folks, the farm belt does not function well in an environment characterized by drought followed by deluge. It does not work. The West Coast as a viable economic environment does not work if they are spending half the year running from massive and continual fire. It does not work.

The Gulf and the East coast don't work if every year they are bailing out of inordinately large hurricanes and massive deluges of rain. It does not work. And the entire planet does not work if the glaciers continue to melt at their current rate.

Is that simple enough for you people. We have ignored climate change enough to have reaped its harvest on ourselves. We don't have to worry about kicking the can down to our children. The can stops here!

Oh but wait....we are betting on a Bazo's rocket to New Earth wherever the f___ that is.

Least I should remind us that Trump's enduring legacy of ignorance and denial may well be his stunningly oblivious take on Climate Change, constantly confusing weather with climate and offering that since he "kept the bathroom door closed" when he used his aerosol hairsprays he just did not know what all the fuss was about.

I should also point out that Republicans generally have had it DEAD WRONG......DEAD WRONG on Climate Change and have had it dead wrong for decades on the most important issue facing this country. So why in Gods name should we trust Republicans with anything.....ANYTHING!!!!!

It is rather amazing that people who believe there are 64 different genders can claim they believe in science since they are very obviously ignorant of subject matter.

I have seen some absurd efforts to right angle into a thread. This one gets the award at least for a day. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
