Yep - have a hard time believing any sane Republican is shocked by their fringe going mainstream. This shit's been developing since 2012, and it's either been openly supported or tacitly so.
I'd go back to early 2009 and say the Tea Party movement was the spark of all this. That's when conservative voters rejected Republican leadership as never fulfilling promise. Today's populist Rep/con rejects pre-Trump Republican.
