How does Islam handle the satiation of drives created by Testosterone and other hormones in Adolescence?

Seems to me women wearing head scarves, and boys kept separate from women, builds up male tensions.

If a society or culture fails to get their youth involve in positive activities that vent the Testosterone of young men, it should not be suprising that many of the young men in the society will be ready for acts of war.

It is more than religion, but a pervasive element of denial of youthful drives in the culture.


Many of the rules of the Islamic cultrue would seem to stifle natural drives.

I suspect homosexuality and/or same-sex experimentation is rampant.
This is generally true in any sex-segregated society.

And there are a small number of the devoted who are convinced that an act of suicide will lead to posthumous sexual delights as long as that act conforms to religious protocol.

I'm sure most devout Muslims, like most devout adherents to any religion, hope to be reunited with their loved ones in some afterlife when they die.

I doubt this "forty anonymous virgins" shtick holds much appeal to anyone except rampantly horny teenage boys.
What do old men care about forty virgins? They want to share eternity with their families who love them, as we all do.

Well, I must say, having a lot of insight into the psyches of teenage boys, that if we taught them from birth that if they followed orders to the letter, 40 hot Victoria's Secret models (it's a different society) would screw them for all eternity, we'd probably have far more compliant youngsters at our disposal, as well.

The Goal of the Militant Muslims and Palestinians may be different than Western perspectives can easily understand.

The goal of Hamas and other Muslim Militant may be to SOUND TOUGH by suggesting Kashuka missle strikes against Israel.

Destroying Israel may really be of no actual interst to Arabs. Israel gives Paelstinians somebdy to Hate, Villify, Vent Against, and talk Baravado, to make themselves feel powerful, finding ways to make others, (Israelis) wrong.

Many in the West who support Israel, cite the words of Iran, Hammas, etc, as indicating the true intent of Militant Muslims.

In fact, this may just be mating behaviour, similar to a Buffalo Bellowing, or other male animals who make lowd noises in mating season.

It may be the intent of the Male Buffalo is to kill all other Male Buffalo, and all other beings that might be within his charging distance, during mating season. Does this make the Buffalo, in mating season, a killer?

Israel would be better off to fund high school dances, boy scouts, motorcycle manufacturing associations, for young Palestinians, instead of wasting money on tanks, fighter planes and attack helicopters. Provide Consttructive avenues for the Palestinian youth to discharge pent up testosterone. Maybe Nascar, or a sprint car circuit. Motorcycle races. Camel Racing. Whatever discharges Testosterone. What do young Palestinians enjoy? Public Floggings, public executions, Public Crucifictions?

What about Foreign Travel? What about working Merchant Marine?

It seems that muslim men, 25 to 45 taking more wives is important. The scarves for women help the men to keep other competitors away from their current and prospective wives. Competitors might includ teenage boys, adolescent men, that is 12 to 24 years old men.

This is a great arrangmeent for older men who are seeking to have and control morre wives. But as a managment of young men, and their testosterone driven drives, this is a frustation, to limit access of young men to instinctive goals of contact or admiration from woman. Many young men, in the West, work hard at football, etc, to try to earn the admiration of young women.

The Militant Muslim controlled society fails to provide a resonaly effective outlet for earning the admiration of young women. So a society of young destructive daredevils is the result.

Israeli sodiers are checking the Testosterone level of men in Gaza Buildings, by firing a few shots at the building, and seeing of people shoot back. Just like the Americans did in the first years of Iraq. If people shoot back, they know ther is unsatisfied Testosterone, and the Israeli soldiers engage in a gun fight to relieve thier pent up Testosterone.

It might work just as well to organize marathon soccer games when Hammas shoots too many rockets at Israel. Getting the Testosterone levels satiated is the key.

Maybe organizing prostitution districts in Gaza would be another alternative response if Hammas was firing too many Katusha rockets. Maybe provide a brothel for Palestinians at a border crossing. How much could it cost the West to set up cross border brothels for Palestinans? If Hammas stops firing rockets at Israel, Israel will close the brothels, otherwise the brothels stay open.

That's from a Westernized mind. Adolescent rebellion isn't a absolute, many cultures don't have that at all. When you think on how it Europe and early America was segregated by sex--you see less sex, crime, etc.,,,

The most sexually frustrated group of men I ever worked with was when I was in the Army, talk of sex, porn, smut books all over--I don't recall one Muslim in the unit.

It is, however, Hammas, Hezbolah and other Muslim Militant youths who are carrying out attacks against Israel. Therefore solutions are worthy of consideration for any root cause of the conflict. If the teenage boys and men of Muslim Militants, were busy saving money to go to the Brothel, they would not be interested in the Hate Rhetoric of old men about Israel and the West.

I suggested Brothels and Soccer instead of War. Some people prefer War, I am sure.


The Militant Muslim practice of Isalm seems like the adult men manipulating the youth, so that the young men will not notice that the Adult Men have four wives, and the Young Men have Limited choices for girl friends.

Adolescent aggression has been on my mind a lot lately, for personal reasons I won't go into here.
It has occurred to me that in all other centuries besides this one, there was, in effect, no "adolescence".
The term itself ("teenager")- and thus the concept- came into existence in the immediate post-WWII era, when "teens" suddenly became a market force that advertizers needed to appeal to. In other words, they suddenly had money to spend, these people who had jobs and pocket money, but no rent or bills, and could therefore be counted upon to blow countless amounts of cash on records, trendy clothing, makeup, acne remedies, etc.

As a market force, teens didn't exist until that time. Therefore, as a concept, they didn't exist. There was no money to be made off them, therefore no benefit to society in recognizing their special status.

But I digress.
What I'm thinking is, in previous centuries, 16 or 17-year-old males were off to war, or apprenticed to tradesmen in big cities, or run away to sea (which often meant that they'd settle eventually in some distant land, and that their families would never see or hear from them again).
Or they were working their fathers' land, a job they would've been groomed for from the time they could walk.

Girls of this age would be married, pregnant, mothers already.

I think teenagers are angry, aggressive, and impatient because they are ready to be adults and get started with their real lives, and our society has grown too complicated for us to let them.

That's my feeling on it, anyway.

If Islam treats adolescent boys as adults, I'm sure that alone is a very seductive thing.

Adultolescence is an interesting phenomenon. Young adults full of energy but still focused on all of the material junk we throw at them. I don't think I will ever grow out of it. My kids can't understand how I can beat them at their video games, they don't get that daddy never really grew up.

Yeah, I was kind of the same... until my kids started to pass me by, developmentally speaking.
I quit smoking a few years ago, so they wouldn't start (didn't work, though).
When they started learning how to drive, and I still didn't know how!
That inspired me to go get a license, for chrissake.
When they started doing work in school that I couldn't do.
It's a rude awakening.

Now I feel I am finally the grown-up in the situation... much good that it does me.
They're grown up too now, at least chronologically, and completely out of my control.
All I can do is hope for their safety.

Israel has been trying to keep the Palestinians poor. That has not worked, because if you give a poor kid a rocket and tell him he is GREAT if he shoots a Katusha to Israel, then Palestinan povety is not working for Israel.

Israel should set up Testosterone satiating activitities for the Palestinian Youth. Israel should encourage businesses to take the money from the Palestinians, instead of keeping the Palestinians poor in the first place.

Developing Armies and Police in Iraq, that keep the peace, has been a part of a successful strategy. Also incoroporating local leaders into the plans for development has been a factor.

Handling the youth is a barometer of who is winning, Jihad or a non-violent society

Marc Sageman, I think, Mentioned that young terrorists lean toward Terrorism as a means to impress thier friends. Recruiting of effective Terrorist cells is difficult because Trust is needed among the members. Books by Sageman: LEADERLESS JIHAD, 2008 and UNDERSTANDING TERROR NETWORKS, 2004.

So terrorist cells more spring up, rather than are organized or recruited.
