If they are safer, then yes eventually insurance will get cheaper. For sure.
But the lawsuits will be cheaper than insurance companies who cover human drivers; soon it will be too expensive to insure human drivers when robo drivers are so much cheaper and safer.
Which begs the question why isn’t car to car networking a thing? If they are safer, then yes eventually insurance will get cheaper.
If ALL cars on the road were robotaxis, that is about as safe as you are going to get.
Waymo has been outperforming Tesla FSD for some years now.Tesla FSD is showing superior performance which has not yet been matched by others.
Show me who's performing better.
Yeah trying to compare level 3 automation to level 4 automation is just dumb.Waymo has been outperforming Tesla FSD for some years now.
Like I said, you haven't even used FSD. You don't own a Tesla. You have no real world experience with FSD.

What does that matter? It doesn’t work in poor weather is an instant fail. I have a friend that paid over $10k for FSD and refuses to use it because it’s not safe. For a customer to spend that much to not use it because it’s unsafe really illustrates Tesla’s position on FSD. It’s insane. Please show me your choicest video examples to convince me that Waymo is better.
Waymo (formerly Google Self-Driving Car Project) doesn't even make their own cars. They're basically adapting vehicles made by others, re-fitting them with their tech
Tesla's FSD is OEM out-of-the-factory
Stop fanboying over videos and go try each out yourself. You know, actually develop an informed opinion for a change! How is anybody supposed to take you seriously when (a) you've never ridden a single Waymo and (b) you've had zero first-hand experience with Tesla FSD?Please show me your choicest video examples to convince me that Waymo is better.

I mainly use FSD on highways during decent lighting and weather conditions because it works extremely well in that scenario. When fog rolls in (not uncommon here in the Bay Area) FSD falls apart very quickly--I learned this the hard way when it hit a speed bump at 35mph which was a whole lot of fun. /s It's also prone to issues in residential areas (missing stop signs), and can struggle with lane splits and merges. It's impressive for what it is, as a purely vision system, but having seen Waymo handle crazy complex downtown aggressive city traffic, I think they have the superior stack and performance. What does that matter? How many jobs did the computer replace? With this technology, between taxis, Ubers, Lyfts, Trucks, millions will lose their jobs. I don't know about you, but I hate Communism. But I can see where automation is taking America into that direction. At some point, there aren't nearly enough jobs for people.
There is no known number. But be assured, there is a number. And that number is growing. And it can grow to the point where there are not enough jobs to support the population. At some point, the government will become responsible for taking care of the people, i.e., CommunismHow many jobs did the computer replace?
Electricity?
The automobile?
Really?
If it were up to you, we would not develop any new innovations.
World population is expected to seriously decline soon minus a few regions in Africa. There is no known number. But be assured, there is a number. And that number is growing. How about us population in the future. Is it going to seriously decline? Will automation affect the us more than the world?World population is expected to seriously decline soon minus a few regions in Africa.
It's all working out.
It is expected to decline yes.How about us population in the future. Is it going to seriously decline? Will automation affect the us more than the world?
Tesla says this is their goal. They claim to be working on it with their semi fleet, allowing them to platoon down the highway.Which begs the question why isn’t car to car networking a thing?
I imagine that in around 30 years that cars will look completely different as very few people drive anymore. I also imagine there will be many places like cities where manual driving is not allowed.Tesla says this is their goal. They claim to be working on it with their semi fleet, allowing them to platoon down the highway.
When will it seriously decline? It is expected to decline yes.
The world birthrate is dropping.
The U.S. birth rate has been declining and is currently at a historic low, and this trend is expected to continue. The total fertility rate is below the replacement level, meaning the population is not naturally replacing itself without immigration. While the birth rate for women under 30 is projected to fall further, the rate for women 30 and older is expected to increase, partially due to women delaying childbirth, according to the Congressional Budget Office (.gov).
Yes the world population is declining, my post about the US was just a response to a specific question. When will it seriously decline?
What do you mean by the vague word seriously?
And since we have immigration, talking about the population level without immigration is worthless
And I posted about the us, you replied about the world? Lol
You used the word seriously first, what do you mean? LolYes the world population is declining, my post about the US was just a response to a specific question.
What do you mean by "serious decline"?
Like will the human population disappear?
No.
I mean you can Google all this yourself; it's not like its unknown information or anything.
You should check out Japan who seems to be the first to experiencing the problems with this.
And immigration is irrelevant outside of short-term fixes because even Mexico is or will be dropping.
There are reasons for it but overall I'd imagine its just mother nature keeping one of her species in check.
I’m talking about all cars not one brand. For obvious reasons that’s the only way it would be really useful. They would have to standardize like all other safety mandates. If Teslers couldn’t hit other Teslers that would be good but extremely limited in value. I’m talking industry wide standard.Tesla says this is their goal. They claim to be working on it with their semi fleet, allowing them to platoon down the highway.

I suppose my question was more of why has this idea taken so long? It seems so obvious and the tech is at least decade old.It will be, certainly in China

Waymo would sell the system to all manufacturer, get licensing fees and perhaps subscriptions.
Tesla would be limited to its own vehicles, which could mean becoming Apple or Blackberry
