For a customer to spend that much to not use it because it’s unsafe really illustrates Tesla’s position on FSD. I mainly use FSD on highways during decent lighting and weather conditions because it works extremely well in that scenario. When fog rolls in (not uncommon here in the Bay Area) FSD falls apart very quickly--I learned this the hard way when it hit a speed bump at 35mph which was a whole lot of fun. /s It's also prone to issues in residential areas (missing stop signs), and can struggle with lane splits and merges. It's impressive for what it is, as a purely vision system, but having seen Waymo handle crazy complex downtown aggressive city traffic, I think they have the superior stack and performance.What does that matter?
