Ted Cruz gives an amazing speech -- doesn't endorse Trump

Excellent job, sir.

If there is anybody less likely to get my vote than hill and trump its cruz. he is a nutter.
as for his speech I totally disagree. His speech cam off like a campaign speech to me and he has no change to ever be president luckily
Cruz embodies exactly what is wrong with politics today and his speech was one hypocritical point and contradiction after another. He condemned the very thing he is. It was a typical bad political speech, full of empty talking points that many people are guilty of left and right..

Like I said Cruz won the runoff but lost the original primary

Senate candidate Ted Cruz is projected to win the Republican primary runoff for U.S. Senate in Texas.

Lies more than Trump? That's funny. Trump lies like a Democrat. Oh, wait, he is a Democrat, isn't he?

I have said for at least 6 years that both parties need to die.

But you think you have insulted me dont ya...

:giggling:

I am only surprised that I do see any bits and pieces of toilet paper leaking from Cruz's mouth when he speaks. I haven't watched any of the convention, so I will have to leave it to imagination.

Ya we do, but you know what, even if Don bails now I will still regard him as a hero.

Stick that in your pipe.

And smoke it.

:2usflag:

i smoked it over

and there is still nothing about the donald which deserves admiration

:giggling:

Oh, no. If I insult someone here they immediately run to the nanny.

But, a lot of people want both Democrats and Republicans to die. The Democrats have morphed to socialist and are heading for communist. The Republicans have always been socialist lite.

If we returned to the Constitution, which did not establish the Imperial Presidency, I would not be unhappy without any dominant parties. It's the Imperial Presidency and the President's power to hand out largesse that makes the two parties so powerful.

Excellent job, sir.

The problem is, Cruz just proved he is not a man of conviction, nor principle. He went back on his spoken word to all voters in every state, to support the eventual candidate they selected. He proved he places himself above the people who have made their choice clear.

His arrogance, and the revelation he is the emperor with no clothes, will likely haunt him for a very long time. It was appropriate for him to be booed off the stage.

Proving he is a solid member of the political elite voters have demonstrated they no longer support was a very foolish thing to do.

If Ted Cruz is what republicans want the republican party to be, they'll be forever crying in their cornflakes about losing every national election they run in.

On a national level, Cruz will forever be un-electable. He's an absolute joke.

He galvanized the party. Thanks! He's booed off stage. His wife has to be escorted from the room. He does, too.

Who looks like the bigger man? Cruz who chose to take the stage? Or Trump who let him?

Considering he lost in the primaries, I think it's safe to say Cruz is not what republicans want the party to be. Given his tactless performance and speech, I believe you are likely correct about his chances in the future.

If/When Trump is elected, I beleive a crap-ton of "republicans" will regret voting for him.

Four years from now, whatever Cruz did last night will be looooooooooooooooooooong forgotten, and/or many will look at what he did as the right thing if they haven't forgotten about it.

The electorate has very short memories. All one has to do to prove that is look at the rate incumbents get re-elected.

Stage craft folks....

The Trump team knew a few hours before Cruz was scheduled to speak that he was not going to endorse Trump.
So what happened. Cruz pulled all the delegates together by not endorsing Trump. This fired up the crowd in the Q, tons of coverage
tv coverage. My guess pretty good ratings for the evening. Trump sunders in at the towards the end of Cruz's speech
and the Q goes wild. Then throw in the low and slow flight by of Trump's aircraft coming into Cleveland. Trump's helicopter
buzzing Cruz's rally earlier in the afternoon. Visually pretty good stuff. Some good speeches along the way. Eric Trump's speech was
great.

Cruz is a dead man walking (politically) at least short term. Long term who knows if voters will remember or care in 4 years.

if Ted Cruz really wanted to do the honorable thing and truly opposes the nomination of Donald trump , then he should have stayed away from the convention. Having Trump allow him to give a speech at the convention and then using it to, at the very least, attempt to further his own political goals down the road without endorsing the candidate, is dishonorable.

Perhaps. But I am of the belief the times have changed significantly and permanently. Whether it be here in the US, or in Europe, the average every day citizen is fed up with the people in government they thought they could trust.

What ever number is represented by "crap-ton", Cruz lost, and he should have declined the invitation to speak if he didn't intend to be a man of his word.

He promised to support the candidate voters selected, and he showed himself to be nothing but an establishment Republican faking his outsider credentials. Clearly, people are done with such people. Thank goodness for that.

I don't think that will ever be forgotten.

who are we talking about the morning after?
cruz
or pence
or trump

cruz used up the oxygen in that room
and in today's media

The Obama thing was an example. Also, many of the founding fathers were not Christians of today. And even some that were, did not want religion to be over the Constitution.

Neither does Ted Cruz from what I heard. When someone says that they are a Christian before anything else, that doesn't equal "I want this country to be a theocracy".

Government can become corrupt as many on the right think today. Fortunately we can change it even though its painful and slow. I guess the idea of a representative democracy based on the Constitution is what I mean by country. Hard to define.

And you don't have anything that you think is more important than our form of government?
