Countries should be supported in exercising their sovereign rights to decline immigrants from countries of concern, where the immigrants in question may not respect the values of the country they're immigrating to.

You're not talking about countries of concern, you're concerned about an entire religion. Many native born French citizens are Muslim.

When France had Algeria, Algeria wasn't a colony, it was legally part of France. As much as Paris or Marseilles. So the people born there during that time were French and had every right to pick up and move to Paris. Which many did. Spoiler alert - they were Muslims.

So they can't solve anything by banning immigration from Muslim countries.

Those people do not have an automatic right to come in.

The guy who beheaded the teacher was from Chechnya, which was never a colony of France.
The guy who who beheaded the elderly woman at Notre Dame basilica and stabbed 2 others to death is newly arrived from Tunisia, which is not a colony of France.

Those 2 individuals did not have some automatic right to be in France.

What does that have to do with offending all the other people in France who are Muslims?

France is being colonized by people who won't assimilate. The desire to murder people over a cartoon isn't some random mental illness, it's rooted in a rejection of wider surrounding society.
Those who feel it's okay to murder over cartoons should move to a society where that's accepted, because it's not accepted in France.
