If you haven't seen the glory that is Tea Party Jesus, head over to Tea Party Jesus to see the words of Tea Partiers and other conservative Christians put into the mouth of Jesus Christ. The cognitive dissonance is hilarious.

It seems more like "heartless libertarian" Jesus (no offense to the libertarians). Personally I see the tenants of Christianity to be somewhat socialist (in that you sell what you don't need to help out your fellow poor brother/sister in the faith.)

I think if you were to put it in a really dumbed down statement to wrap it up.

I think Christainity kind of says this

"Everyone should pitch in when they can"

"Everyone should pitch in when they can"

Oooookay?

You got that from this...

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?”
Jesus said to him, "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind." This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like it: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

Tea partiers are all "conservative christian" now? I didnt get the memo.

What a great way to be an offensive smug liberal asshole this guy is.

I bet you wouldn't try this with Mohammed.

Oh lighten up.

Are you assuming my belief system? I just don't see the need to be an offensive prick to someones religion.

Nowhere does the cartoon make fun of Christianity. Rather, it makes fun of some of its adherents.

I'm unaware of there being that many Muslims amongst the ranks of Tea Partiers, so that joke wouldn't really make sense. But if you want to start Tea Party Mohammed, go for it. I won't complain. ;)

you post what you want, I'll just opine on it's lack of class.

I'm failing to see how it makes fun of Christianity. Quite the opposite, in fact. If the guy was implied that Jesus sucked, then it wouldn't make any sense.

feigning stupidity is not something I can see as helping your argument.

Digs! :doh

Socialist governments don't ASK you to CHOOSE to give to those in need....it's forced. Biblical giving is completely based on free will because when you FREELY give, it not only helps the person in need, it changes YOU.

Even if you don't personally find them funny, I think you understand full well where the humor comes from: Juxtaposing the image of Jesus with quotes like these is ridiculous, because it is impossible to imagine Jesus saying these things. Do you think that they are the kind of things that Jesus would say? If so, then there is nothing at all absurd about the cartoon and you have no reason to be offended. ;)

Whatever guys. Its the difference between class and no class you all are clearly of the latter.

If you want to attack and smear the tea party at least have the balls to not pretend to be posting humor.

How would a Teabagger tell the difference?

The funniest comment so far.
