...if they result in the erosion of basic public infrastructure. You did not create the money in your paycheck out of thin air - it resulted from opportunities provided to you by the whole of our society's institutions. Failing to adequately contribute to the maintenance of those institutions is theft. The definition of "adequately" is debatable within the bounds of reason, but the existence of the obligation is not.

socialists and other advocates of parasitic income redistribution love to pretend that what you make really doesn't morally belong to you but they never explain what the recipients of your hard earned money have done to deserve a share of your wealth other than exist within the same geopolitical boundaries as you do

the real "theft" is that so many people use the infrastructure and don't pay any taxes supporting the system-not that those who already pay most of the taxes get to pay a little less

Income is not created out of thin air, it is a trade. To trade the labor of one's hands in exchange for the fruits of another's labor. If there are any opportunities afforded to the individual in that transaction, it is in spite of, and not due to, societies institutions of governance. An obligation exists as the result of previously agreed upon conditions. Unless you can retrieve a transcript proving the prior consent of all parties, there is no legitimacy in the "obligation" you levy upon the citizenry.

gasoline taxes are use taxes

claiming tax cuts are thefts while ignoring the fact that almost half the country don't pay the taxes that fund stuff that they use at rates higher or as high as those who do is the real theft

Why don't you ever blame the capitalists who gives tax breaks to the poor so more of them can spend their money on products and services from the businesses those capitalists own?

Move to another country, revoke your own citizenships already. This is getting tired and old.

pay for what you use and stop expecting others to have to subsidize your existence. remind me how much income tax you pay. rounding to the nearest 10K will be acceptable

My existence is subsidized by nobody. Next talking point please.

Funny; the standard line on the necessity of taxation, especially as expressed in the OP, is that everyone is subsidized to some extent. Do you disagree?

so you are making more t han 117K a year? I believe that is the current breaking point to becoming a net tax payer

that would be data i would want to see; how about offering a cite, squire

Tax cuts aren't theft because you are putting less into the system and in return get less from the system. Taxes aren't theft because when you put money into the government you get goods and services in return. These threads really are pointless.

I heard it on several news shows

feel free to dispute it

and this isn't england so you can drop the squire crap

what about all the people who get services without paying the taxes that fund them

what about those who are forced to pay massive taxes and get nothing much in return?

The taxes aren't massive when put in proportion with their income.

I already discussed the other one with you in the "taxes are theft" thread

Oh, so turtledude has nothing to complain about because he also get subsidized. Thanks for the clarification!

If the rich won't pay the extra taxes who will? The poor? Some of the poor wouldn't even be able to afford food if they paid the extra taxes. The middle class? It would drive most of them beyond the poverty line if the taxes were high enough. What would the rich sell if there isn't a middle class to buy their crap? The rich pay a little more taxes, is this going to run them into the ground? The correct answer is no.

Does someone subsidize your existence or not?

well maybe the poor should stop voting for politicians who want to spend and spend while increasing taxes on others
and how do you know -=plenty of rich people are not able to afford more taxes without cutting back on spending they want to do now. Since you won't and the poor won't why should the rich

after all they already pay MORE than their share so why should say a guy who has three kids at Ivy league colleges have to cut back on say a new car so the poor can shirk their responsibilities

most people who are poor are so due to poor choices

Ever travel on a road to get to work?

Congratulations, you've consented to paying taxes.

Have I been given another choice, or am I subject to paying for a service that was forced upon me in the form of monopoly?

I do not accept your claim over the geographical area which I live. If you do not respect my right to be left alone, you may feel free to leave as well.
