So, yesterday Trudeau announces that the retaliatory tariffs are forthcoming and Chrystia Freeland comes on and outlines the details of them. A couple hours later the Trump administration announces that It's lifting the tariffs it had put in place last month.
What the hell is up with this? Last time around it was a matter of national security, while the negotiations of NAFTA2 were going on. Then It's not a security issue anymore so the tariffs are lifted. Now, last month it became a national security issue again but when the retaliation is announced, It's no longer a security issue. It's reminiscent of the vapourous caravans of rapists and drug thugs coming north to invade the US. The ones that disappeared with a puff when not needed anymore.
How can anyone in the world deal with this administration? It's like negotiating bedtime with a six-year-old.
