If more people had this woman's attitude toward life and their beliefs, the world would be full of joy.
I am watching a show on the WE channel of her and her battle with cancer. I have never seen anyone so full of life, so open to everything around her...
Her faith is unwaivering, but her acceptance of things many who would declare themselves 'Christian' would mock is astounding.
She is seeking out acupuncture, yoga, alternative medicines in addition to her chemo. She looks to her death not as the end of her life, but at something she fears her family will grieve over. She wants them to dance and celebrate at her funeral.
She jokes about not having her famous eyelashes. She speaks frankly of the effects of the chemo on her body and of her faith that things have to get better.
She's thankful for everything-instead of looking at this cancer as something stopping her, she's attacking it with humor, with faith and making sure she learns everything there is to learn about her body, her spirit and her choices as she fights.
When she's in the hospital for her updates, she visits with AIDS patients and other cancer patients, not preaching, but to just offer her love and support.
I first saw her out of her other persona on the VH1 show Surreal Life and she surprised me. Housed with no less then Ron Jeremy, she was a model of class; funny, staunch, smart and accepting and caring.
I'm not sure this is a debate topid-how can you debate about someone who is so above reproach? But there are some who think that those of us who don't follow Christian doctrine don't have an ounce of humanity or spirituality or acceptance of them. Maybe Tammy Faye is doing it all right and those who are so quick to judge are doing it all wrong....
