It was Reagan who came to understand the way to deal with terrorism is greater counter terrorism. After the bombing in Lebanon, he had the USS Missouri battleship fire salvo after salvo into where people were cheering the deaths of our personnel. The point made was they had no defense against that battleship. War is hell and wars in that region have always been fought this way. Now, our military air power vastly equates many battleships, for any part of Iraq with also near immunity.

All for the pipedream of shifting at light speed to other ways to make electricity, vehicles, boats, aircraft, plastics and all the things oil and gas do and are required for. Gamble the fate of the nation of that fantasy and a believe that if we are nice and give them whatever they want, Russia, China, Iran and all other countries will be nice and generous to us.

AGAIN, my highest praise for your research and messages. On face value, you gunned me down. I have a kid who has repeatedly been in combat missions over both both war countries and most in the region. Thus, it is a topic area of interest to me. Also many discussions with a Marine squad leader who was in combat in Afghanistan. We can never win an enduring war there by presence on the ground.
