Taliban greets Pentagon's withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan with cries

We don't need to fight ISIS over there anymore.They are coming across the border from Mexico.We will be fighting them here.
Ryan Reynolds would not approve of your message.

Sent from Trump Plaza's basement using Putin's MacBook.

If the Taliban take over Afghanistan, it will NOT be due to President Trump's withdrawal of American troops.

It will be due to the fact that the Afghans themselves do not feel it's worth the effort to prevent the Taliban from taking over.

Why should Americans keep dying simply to delay an inevitable takeover by the Taliban (if the Afghans allow that to happen).

The Afghans have to fight (and die) if they want to crush the Taliban.

Good luck to them.

I find it strange that so many people who were saying just a couple years ago that we need to leave Afghanistan, are now freaking out that we're leaving Afghanistan and Syria.

Too true. These days we are a schizophrenic and confused and angry society. For that we can thank generations of brain-washing by our illustrious media and government.

If you were to be given the choice between:

  1. a corrupt, ineffective (at delivering basic services including law enforcement), capricious, and repressive regime; or
  2. an honest, effective (at delivering basic services including law enforcement), consistent, and repressive regime;

which would you chose if you were:

  • rich enough to benefit from the corruption;
  • not rich enough to benefit from the corruption?

SOME Afghans fall into "Category A" but MOST Afghans fall into "Category B" and there IS NO "Option 3." currently available in Afghanistan.

This isn't about hawks or doves, it's about the U.S. honoring our commitments, something Trump neither understands nor cares about. So what if we leave the Kurds, who have been fighting and dying alongside us, to the tender mercies of Erdogan, a vicious dictator who plans to wipe them out?

...and damn near did in 1914-1918.
