The Taliban offered its endorsement for President Donald Trump's re-election campaign Saturday, with the Islamic fundamentalist group expressing its hope his administration pulls all U.S. troops out of Afghanistan. The spokesman for the hardline Afghan Taliban, Zabihullah Mujahid, told CBS News via phone Saturday that the group's senior leaders were happy to learn Trump is recovering from his COVID-19 diagnosis. The Taliban leadership said they "hope" Trump wins the upcoming November 3 presidential election against former Vice President Joe Biden. The group said its reason for endorsing the U.S. president is tied to his administration's ongoing efforts to withdraw the remaining 5,000 military troops from Afghanistan after 19 years of combat in the Middle East—America's longest war in history.

The Taliban know who is buttering their victory bread.

When you consider Trump has single-handedly dried up nearly all Taliban funding by taking away Iran's dominance in oil production, that shows this OP is ludicrous. Nobody in the media is mentioning Islamic terrorism has virtually disappeared under this president.

Notice also, nobody will ask Biden about his intention of ending fracking which has made the US energy independent while defunding terrorists.

Are you ever right about anything?

Two years old. Nice try.

Will a 3 day old article meet you needs?

But, compared to their earlier days, the Taliban’s sources of finances have expanded. A confidential report commissioned by NATO claims the Taliban have widened their financial power in recent years to include poppy cultivation, the illicit drug trade, illegal mining and exports. The Taliban are said to have earned $1.6 billion in the last fiscal year, which ended in March 2020, with $400 million alone that year from mining operations in areas not controlled by the Afghan government.

Yep. Always.

From 2015, after seven years of Idiot Boy

In 2019, after Trump made America the #1 oil producer.

So 2018 was too old, now 2015 is somehow better?

Oh, and your 2nd article says nothing about the Taliban.

With over 14k posts, how are so bad at this?

Iran is anti taliban and one of their fiercest enemies. Ypu have no clue what you talk about.

The very fact that you could occupy Afghanistan was, because Iran forged the northern alliance and crushed the taliban on the ground.

The 2015 article was shown to highlight Iran's massive funding of terrorism under 0bama. The 2018 article showed how Trump dried up that support by decimating Iran's economy.
Follow along, dude.

Well, I'm glad you walked back off your claim that Iran wasn't funding the Taliban. Thanks for that.

I never said that. You really suck at this debate thing.

When did Iran ever have "dominance" in oil production? And you do know that most of the SUNNI Taliban's funding does not come from SHIA Iran, yes?

The Taliban has never relied heavily on Iran for funding. They get most of their money domestically, from the sale of opium. After the spring harvest the Taliban use the money to load up on guns and ammunition for their summer operations before they die down towards the winter.

You're also going to need a source for the claim that Islamic terrorism has "virtually disappeared" under Trump. There are thousands of corpses who would disagree with that.

Love this president. He does what he promises.

The important point is that at last we have an administration that will finally end our fighting in that country. We should have never been there in the first place. It was a waste of lives and treasure. I couldn't care less about what the Taliban do or do not endorse, whether it be butt pirate manuals, cave dwelling fixer uppers, or finding your 72 virgins books on tape.

That article does not say that terrorism has "virtually disappeared".
Terrorism has been markedly reduced from what it was. I'm sure you and I can agree that's a great thing.

So, now he has the Taliban and the Talibornagains...

Born again Christians have nothing in common with violent Taliban terrorists, but Antifa and BLM certainly do. You knew that, right?

Islamic terrorism has always been over-hyped in the West. The biggest fighters of Islamic terrorism happen to be Iranian, not US. On the other hand, right-wing terrorism in America has been greatly under reported compared to its actual threat to the nation.

More than you think.
Both groups are zealots and nuts.
