Taliban Bring Back ‘Virtue’ Ministry, Stoning and Amputations for ‘Major Sins’

The Ministry for Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice -- something that Democrats are slowly building towards, with their Ministry of Truth -- is now officially back in force with the Taliban:

This must come as a shock to Joe Biden and the State Dept.

US military forces were withdrawn from Vietnam in February of 1973. (Operation Homecoming) South Vietnam surrendered to North Vietnamese forces on April 30 1975. More than two years after US forces had been withdrawn. Whereas the Afghan government capitulated to the Taliban in just 11 days. There is no real comparison between the two.
It's doubtful any country will ever again consider the USA as a trusted ally.

And in honor of the person that made it all possible, they are calling it "The Biden Act"
Had Trump withdrew from Afghanistan would the Taliban not taken back the country? Personally I think we should have maintained a presence there so I am critical of both the Biden and Trump Administrations, but then there are those that want to have it both ways.

So you're saying you don't believe that the Taliban have re-instituted their Ministry for Propagation of Virtue & Prevention of Vice?
How many sources do you need?

But they seemed so nice during the departure negotiations.

Oh you really think so?

Then-president Donald Trump sent a secret memo to the Pentagon after he lost the election pushing them to withdraw US troops stationed around the world, according to a new report.

One of Mr Trump's closest aides, John McEntee, handed a handwritten note to retired Army Colonel Douglas Macgregor on 9 November 2020, saying: “This is what the president wants you to do.”

The note said to “get us out” of Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria. It instructed the Colonel to “complete the withdrawal from Germany,” and to “get us out of Africa,” according to new reporting by Axios.

Col Macgregor, who had just been offered the post of senior adviser to acting Defence Secretary Christopher Miller, with only ten weeks left of Mr Trump’s term in office, told Mr McEntee he didn’t think such a drastic move would be possible before the president’s term was up.

“Then do as much as you can,” Mr McEntee said, according to Axios.

A short memo was delivered by a courier to the office of Mr Miller two days later with instructions from Mr Trump to withdraw all US forces from Somalia by 31 December 2020 and all troops from Afghanistan by 15 January 2021. It was Mr Miller’s third day as Defence secretary after the firing of Mark Esper.
The top military leaders were horrified by the orders, Axios reported. Neither White House counsel Pat Cipollone nor national security advisor Robert O'Brien appeared to know where the orders had come from.

The memo had Mr Trump’s signature, but not even the staffers whose job it was to vet all the paper that got to the desk of the president knew where it had come from.

National security leaders came to understand that Mr Trump himself was trying to conduct military policy under the radar, according to Axios.

Not with Trump at the helm they certainly wouldn't.
Trump was not at the helm in either Vietnam or the retreat from Afghanistan and its US allies.

20 years is a 'hasty retreat'? LOL! Yeah okay.
Is it your understanding that an agreement was signed 20 years ago to retreat on August 31 of this year? If so your former allies should have been informed.

Trump was not at the helm in Vietnam
Yep, true. We know that to be factual, because Trump bragged about his "Vietnam was sleeping around in Manhattan", while brave, true American Patriots were making the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam. And let's not forget Trump's disrespecting of American POWs with his disgraceful "I prefer soldiers that don't get captured" comment.

What exactly is your point, sanman? This is no more horrific or atrocious than what is done by other Medieval States like Saudi Arabia, which remains our stolid ally. Are you going to henceforth document every horrible action done by the Taliban and then shake your fist to the sky and curse Biden for pulling our forces out of Afghanistan? Or are you just doing this to snipe at Democrats and liberals in the same immature manner in which some of them have compared conservatives to the Taliban?

And, to complete the agreement, Trump was not 'at the helm' in the retreat from Afghanistan or the traitorous behavior toward US allies either.

So much for being "more business-like" and "changing their ways"
I didnt believe they would change either. They are stuck in the bronze age with barbarism and muh huly buuk.

A book which most of them would proudly admit to not being able to read.

The point was quite clear.

And your fellow Americans and former allies are at their mercy. It's like Benghazi but on a much larger scale.

Maybe they can take a cue from Texas and pay blasphemy whistleblowers.

That Democrats are like the Taliban? If the point was capturing the essence of inanity, I suppose it was clearly delivered. But I will leave it to sanman to clarify.

Any American still in Afghanistan is there because they ignored the warnings to get out and gambled that they would be rescued at the last minute.
