I think Im going to take a break for awhile, not sure how long.
My mom has been diagnosed with leukemia and tomorrow I am taking a trip there to her. I will be frank, I will walk away from everything to care for her, my business, my SO etc. Right now Im unsure what comes next but Im driving there in a few hours.
She also has COPD snd emphysema so this will not be an easy journey
 
Sorry to hear about your mother. Hope all goes well for you and yours. We're only debating politics here, family comes first, my hats off to you.
 

I have nothing but respect for you and your choice can't have been easy.
Money isn't everything and I'm sure your SO will understand and I'm sure your mum will massively appreciate the help you give.

Take care of mom. Hopefully her leukemia was diagnosed in an early stage and will respond well to treatment. This blood sport of politics will still be here when you get back to it. Best wishes.

I just lost my mom to cancer. Not to say anything bad will happen to your mom -but you are right to prioritize her care.
You only get 1 mom.. I wish her best possible health

I hope that you will find love and support from other people as you embark on this endeavor. I saw both my parents through long illnesses and they have now passed away. There is no bigger gift you can give yourself than to be the caregiver that you would like to be for someone you deeply love. My thoughts and prayers will be with you and your mother. If you are lucky, you will encounter many good people who will help both of you to get her the very best care.
 

You are a good person and clearly a loyal and loving daughter. We wish your mom the best. I wish you the best as you face the challenges with her. Your love and attention will mean the world to her. She is in that way a lucky lady.
