Fifty nine years ago, the Chinese KMT occupiers of Taiwan were responsible for the murder of as many as 30,000 Taiwanese people while the occupiers were technically occupying Taiwan on behalf of the Allied Powers. It is now a holiday in Taiwan so people here will never forget what happened, no matter how much the KMT tries to keep covering it up.
