Sweden grants blanket asylum to Syrian refugees – The Express Tribune

SWEDEN: Sweden on Tuesday became the first European Union country to announce it will give asylum to all Syrian refugees who apply.
“All Syrian asylum seekers who apply for asylum in Sweden will get it,” Annie Hoernblad, the spokesperson for Sweden’s migration agency, told AFP.
“The agency made this decision now because it believes the violence in Syria will not end in the near future.”
The decision, which will give refugees permanent resident status, is valid until further notice, added Hoernblad.

Since 2012, Sweden has taken in some 14,700 asylum seekers from Syria.

In 2012, Sweden received a total of 44,000 asylum requests, a 48-percent increase and the highest number since 1992, at the time of the conflict in the former Yugoslavia.

So I verified this news to make sure I got it right, hence, the other links.

Well, good on Sweden. It will surely be the first country that will show the positive effects of embracing mass islamic immigration and refugees together with the multiculti dream. Some have already been seen such as a huge spike in women abuse and rapes, jews fleeing malmo and other big cities that got overrun by muslims and not too long ago, a big bonfire in a few neighborhoods in stockholm and surrounding cities. I wonder whats next.

This may not be a good thing when the war ends.

Well, I can honestly say I'm not surprised. I wish them luck with it.

Swedes have always been too trustworthy....

There is no amount of good luck that can help them now. 2 years ago they made it unconstitutional to uphold swedish values. I guess being known as a premiere healthcare, education and for the most part, socially crime-free country for 30-40 years until the early 2000s was really bugging them... so they spend all the time since then fixing those 'flaws".

Goodbye Sweden, we will miss you. :violin :violin :violin

Fallen.

Those tall blonde people are so nice. If only they spoke English? Oh wait, they do that too. Show offs.

Anyway, while Syrians will start flooding into Sweden, islamist from Germany or arab and turkish ethnicity, are going into Syria to fight for the islamist rebels.

German Islamists increasingly going to Syria | Germany | DW.DE | 08.09.2013
Germany's domestic security agency has recorded what experts regard as an alarming trend. A growing number of young Germans are traveling to Syria to aid the opposition, potentially getting radicalized along the way.
I like how they are saying "potentially getting radicalized along the way". If you're go to go to Syria to fight a jihad against Assad, you are already a radical. No numbers were released by any state agency, just specualations.

Realistically, with the current attitudes in Sweden, this didn't surprise me that much. The government had to push back against the sentiment of a few months ago. As I had said on the other thread, natural born citizen or not, should any German go to Syria and fight on behalf of the "rebels" they should be denied reentry and their citizenship automatically revoked.

They are cutting the branch they are on! Too bad, Sweden is a country of beautiful people. Or may be I should say, was...

That cannot stand! There is something wrong with so much peace! Perhaps cultural clashes with such a polar culture might wake them up from sleeping and fix the situation there now.

We'll see how they feel when their social systems are depleted.

Have you forgotten all the years that western countries have provided humanitarian relief whenever there was trouble somewhere?

By way of example: the UK has just pledged a further £52 million in aid for Syria, making them the second biggest donor overall, just saying.

For people outside Sweden it can be hard to understand why they would do something so stupid. Sweden already has big problems due to immigration, and now they are making the door even wider. Its not even that considerate, cause the people who really need help cannot afford to pay a smuggler to bring them to Sweden.

But we have heard the other side of the coin. Swedes never have, they still think it won't lead to big problems. Immigration is a very low priority issue among voters in Sweden and most Swedes don't live with the new immigrants. If the majority of Swedes knew what they are signing up to, then they would never accept it. In fact the Swedish media has no reluctance lying to their own people. For instance they purposely used wrong figures from the OECD migration report and claimed immigrants benefit Sweden. The OECD report actually showed that immigration did not benefit Sweden. And recently they pulled a similar trick. They were caught both times, and they did eventually pull down the article, but it doesn't matter because people were fooled.

And even among the Swedes who know, they have no clue about the seriousness of the situation. They don't know that if they keep up the same policies, then in 20 years their welfare system will be totally destroyed, but their taxes are stilll high. They have been told that even if there is some initial problems, the second generation integrate themselves perfectly. Some Swedes know, and they are very angry.

Sweden is likely to fail, and they may possibly never change course. But we need Sweden, because Sweden will serve as a warning to the rest of Europe for what not to do.

Minister's fears over '300' French Islamists in Syria - The Local
More than 300 French nationals or residents are either currently fighting in Syria's civil war, planning to go and fight or have recently returned from there, the minister, Manuel Valls, told France Inter radio.
Most of them were young men, often with a delinquent past, who had become radicalised, he said.

"This is a phenomenon which worries me because they represent a potential danger when they return to our soil," Valls said. "We have to be extremely attentive."

France, which has the largest Muslim population in western Europe, has increased its monitoring of Islamic radicals since Al-Qaeda-inspired gunman Mohamed Merah killed seven people in and around the southwestern city of Toulouse last year.
According to British defence consultancy IHS Jane's, there are up to 10,000 jihadists from all over the world currently fighting in Syria on the side of rebels trying to overthrow President Bashar al-Assad, whose regime they want to replace with an Islamic state.
At least one French national has died fighting in Syria - a 22-year-old white convert to Islam from Toulouse only identified as Jean-Daniel, who was killed in a clash with government forces in August.

More reports of islamists from Europe joining the jihad in Syria on the side of the rebels.

A thought just occured to me.
Say the USA and France join the fight and go in and level the place. Do what I said that they should do all along, wipe the floor with the rebels and Assad and then oversee democratic elections take place. If they resist the notion of letting the islamists win and letting Syria become an islamic dictatorship, as Morsi tried in Egypt, maybe muslims in France will start behaving fanatically and start doing domestic terrorism in France... because the muslims don't want a secular government, they want sharia law.

Swedes react to government's decision to welcome Syrian refugees (Includes interview)
Digital Journal
By Brett Wilkins
9/20/13

[......]While Sweden has an international reputation as a compassionate, liberal society that throws open its doors to refugees from around the globe, the government's decision to welcome this latest wave of asylum seekers seems to have as many-- if not more-- detractors as it does supporters. Digital Journal spoke with a number of Swedes from various parts of the Nordic nation to gauge their opinion on the matter.
[......]
And here's where things get a bit sensitive, especially in such an overtly politically correct society as Sweden. Most immigrants, says Scheldt, are "Muslims from harsh backgrounds and traditions."
"Approximately 10% of Sweden today are Muslims from the Middle East and North Africa," Scheldt continues. "Most of them don't work. They breed like rabbits. They want special Sharia law. They don't want music in schools. They're against homosexuals, abortion, human rights. Some Swedes are becoming afraid of what's to come in the future."

Fear for the future of their country. It's a theme echoed by some of the other Swedes we interviewed.

"Afraid, yes that's the right word for Swedes," agrees Weibert.
Fear of increasing crime, which many Swedes blame on the increased immigrant population, is palpable.
"Since we are a socialist country with a 'humane' way of thinking, we have been creating problems for ourselves," argues Weibert. "We have a Huge problem right now with segregation and 'hoods.' And that's only because we've opened our arms to everybody without having the ability to take care of all the people in the right way. So now we are having problems in Gothenburg with shootings, which take place almost every day now."

"Crime has gone sky high," concurs Scheldt. "There were five shootings last week in Gothenburg."
Such crimes were virtually Unheard of a generation ago.

There are other crimes that Swedes blame on immigrants.
"In Malmö the Jews are being persecuted by Muslims because of Israel's wrongdoing," adds Scheldt. "Sweden also now has one of the world's highest rates of Rape. When I was young, we didn't have to lock our doors. Girls are afraid to walk home in the evening. There's more violence, missing people, trafficking, drugs, killings [and] abuse of the welfare system."

"Sweden has never been like this before," Scheldt says. "My 75-year-old father has been knocked down and robbed twice in the past two years. My sister got stabbed."
