Swamp Creature, Matt Gaetz

I was just coming here to post this. Gaetz is in troooouuuuuble!
$300,000 in total outlays for hookers. He's in big trouble.
Greenberg and Gaetz are also connected on Venmo to at least one other woman that Greenberg paid with taxpayer funds using a government-issued credit card. Seminole County auditors flagged hundreds of those payments as “questioned or unaccounted for,” and in total found more than $300,000 in suspicious or unjustified expenses. The Daily Beast was able to obtain that credit card data through a public records request.

I'd say this is the biggest break in the case yet.

"Simply put: As a prosecutor, you're not flipping Greenberg unless he gives you Gaetz," Elie Honig, a former federal prosecutor from the Southern District of New York, wrote.

Not a good sign.

Just as expected.

From the NYT article: Joel Greenberg, a former elected official in Florida, has been talking to federal investigators since last year about the conduct of Representative Matt Gaetz and others.

I wonder who the 'and others' are. This is a pedo ring.

PizzaGaetz.

Whoa...shit just got real.

Ah, shit has been real.

Federal agents executed a search warrant this winter during which they seized Gaetz's iPhone, Politico reported, citing three people who Gaetz had told about the situation.

The Florida GOP congressman reportedly changed his phone number in December last year, and his former girlfriend's phone was also seized in November, Politico reported.

...since November.

Hmm...can't blame Dems for this. That was Trump's FBI.

I am going to admit outrage today, only because the subject of people in a position of power abusing that power for dubious self serving interests is important.

It matters not that Gaetz is in Congress and Cuomo is a Mayor.

It matters not that Gaetz is a "family values" Republicans and Cuomo is every bit of a modern day authoritarian loving liberal.

The fact that Gaetz is full in on being a Trump loyalist has little to do with this.

What matters is both are in a position of political power and authority and used such position to treat people in a manner we should all be able to agree is wrong. While we spar in this thread and others about the accounts from the victims, or calling one "underage" or "girl," the elephant in the room here is political convenience and total lack of substance.

Al Franken, who I think is a piece of shit, resigned over his actions under immense political pressure to do so. Then we turn around and elect a President to ****ed a porn star just after his third wife gave birth to his son. And he was a "moral" leader?

Now we get Gaetz and Cuomo (and a slew of others including plenty who probably have not been caught yet) and we argue about who is a "swamp creature?"

Wow, have we really missed the mark in what we should be talking about. More men in positions of political power, both left and right, who take an interest in treating women very poorly. So much for metoo being nothing more than a hashtag library entry.

Swamp creatures alright.

More light appears through the swampy mud.

At the time, Beshears had recently been left by another girlfriend after she learned about the Bahamas trip. Beshears, then a state legislator, had flown several of the women on his private plane, which was briefly detained by U.S. Customs upon its return to Florida for questioning about the ages of several of the young women on the trip.

“Here was Halsey with three young women who could have been his daughters, and a Customs agent was like, ‘Whoa, what’s going on here?‘”
Just the "family values" crowd having fun.

Speaking to the partying group and the drama surrounding them, a different mutual friend said: “Tallahassee is like high school. But no one ever graduates.”

lol

He's already trying though. Gaetz is blaming it on the "Deep State" going after him. He's going to end up rolling out the Affluenza defense since his daddy never let him be held responsible for any of his actions in the past.

Looks like Daddy Gaetz is getting sucked in.

Man, the final fallout from all of this will be huge.

According to Politico's Gary Fineout, it is no secret in Florida political circles that Sen. Don Gaetz -- known as "Papa Gaetz" -- has used his years lording over and wheeling and dealing in panhandle politics, as well as his substantial wealth, to guide his son -- referred to as "Baby Gaetz" -- into the public eye and Congress.

Ah, correction: Papa Gaetz.

"Don has a lot of power and friends in Florida politics," the political operative said, speaking on condition of anonymity. "There are a lot of people who owe him favors. They are repaying those favors by staying silent about his son."
