PRRI came out with its annual state-of-the-union survey. It can be found here:

Some of the survey responses appear to reveal racism.

Here's one example:

1603493352584.png

In a nutshell, respondents were given a statement about protesting unfair government treatment and asked whether they agree.

In version #1, the statement was about "Americans."

In version #2, the statement was about "Black Americans."

Every single group responded more negatively to statements about "black Americans" than about "Americans." (The only exception are Democrats, who agreed to both statements equally.)

If the difference between the yellow and blue dots above isn't racism, then what is it?

Before you answer, note the results for the subgroup "Fox News Republican."

Other differences (in percentages):

Amount that think racial inequality in America is a problem: Republicans 17%, Democrats 68%.

Amount of Republicans who think that the Democratic party has been "taken over by socialists" :ROFLMAO: : 81%.

Amount of Fox News Republicans who think that Biden will not concede if he loses: 54%

The only person or institution that Fox News Republicans claim to have "a lot" of trust is in Donald Trump and no one else.

Not university research centers (32% report "a lot" of trust), not Fauci (23%), not the CDC (36%), not the WHO (9%), not state and local health organizations (15%), not Joe Biden (0%), and not state and local government (10%).

Just Donald Trump (58%).

And finally, Republicans believe that white people in America suffer from more discrimination than Asians, Hispanics, and blacks.

Oh yes, the bad Caucasian male 😂

So what did you do, you, Yakshi (I am suspecting you are a white man with glasses) in the past to feel responsible for these injustices ? What did I do ? This is the talk you hear in social studies courses, where the productivity is at zero. How am I, an immigrant from Eastern Europe responsible ? Because of my skin color ? Even if let us suppose in theory my grandfather was a colonialist, I am an individual, why should I be judged by the action of another person ?

So what do you propose we do ? More taxes ? You want to tax the private industry at 99 % so we can resolve these issues of racism ? I am assuming you will propose reparations. And who should get this money ? What about the minorities that succeed in life, why are you grouping them together so you can make your point across ? Lots of people don't listen to the propaganda, they go out and start businesses becoming productive members of society.

“The smallest minority on earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be defenders of minorities.”
― Ayn Rand

This information didn't come from any class or any university.

People volunteered to answer questions.

They were asked questions. Then they answered them.

These are the results.

Many Americans like the idea of "Americans" protesting injustice more than "Black Americans" doing the exact same thing.

Maybe these guys are too busy talking about how they don't see color.

Which guys ?

The ones who like "Americans" protesting injustice just fine but who disagree with "Black Americans" doing the same.

The racist ones, of course.

Yes, America is extremely racist. That's why we always call out the idiots who insist that there is no systemic racism.

What I like about this survey is that the respondents admitted their racism by voluntarily answering questions.

And throughout the survey, the "Fox News Republicans" group ends up looking like hillbilly trash--distrustful of absolutely every institution except Trump, expressing racist views, and at the same time believing that white Americans are bigger victims than any other group in the country.

These are some truly ****ed up people.

Fox News Republicans don't like it when Fox News Republicans admit their racism.

That's funny.

Perhaps if we didn't have affirmative action we wouldn't have so many white racist?

Perhaps if we didn't have affirmative action we wouldn't have so many white racist?

I don't know what the reason is, and I don't know why the negative attitude toward black people is so much more pronounced among Fox News Republicans than any other group.

This is the same group that claims more than any other that racism is not a significant problem in America.

It is a chicken-and-the-egg problem. Does Fox News attract racists, or does its content encourage racist belief?

The answer seems to be yes and yes.

If I, for example, walked around continually denying that racism is a significant issue in America, and then I took a survey that unambiguously revealed that I gave racist answers, I would have no other choice but to understand that I am human garbage, and that I should immediately begin to correct it.

Either that, or ignore the truth.

This is why I hate polls, they are slanted by the creator either on purpose or because of their innate biases. Take your prime example here, it divides black against everyone else in America. Your poll is already biased, separating black Americans from every other color Americans. There is a huge range of people other than black or white that make up "Americans" If you want to make it about color there is every shade of American between those two that make America.

Yes, bias or "they were tricked!" seems to be the only defense. Otherwise, one has to concede the racism. That was my initial reaction--to wonder about how the questions were asked, to see whether bias played a factor.

However, the more one looks into the methodology of the questions, the more one will realize that that is not the case.

Some of the results are quite interesting. I recommend to anyone to check it out.

But yes, a respondent's open willingness to admit his racism, while at the same time denying that racism is a significant problem in America, can be found in several places in the survey results.

Identity politics is dumb.

Identity politics is dumb.

I don't know what you mean.

If your point is, "One group should not be expressing negative attitudes toward specific minorities, because that sounds an awful like racism, then worst form of identity politics," then I agree with you.

If your point is, "It is dumb to discuss the racist beliefs of a subgroup of Americans because it doesn't lead to anything productive," then I don't.

These same Fox News Republicans don't think much of "wokeness" either.

Ouch. No wonder all of the old guard conservatives have abandoned the party. Republicans have turned into zombies. By that I mean Zombie apocalypse type crazy monsters

Perhaps if we didn't have affirmative action we wouldn't have so many white racist?
Perhaps if we still had segregation blacks would stay in their "place"?

Responses from Fox News Republicans:

47 percent
agree with the statement that "It always makes our country better when Americans speak up and protest unfair treatment by the government."

Only 10 percent agree with the statement that "It always makes our country better when Black Americans speak up and protest unfair treatment by the government."

Open, unmasked, uncoded racism.
