Good explanation for those having a hard time with this.

I guess we can add Forbes to the list of disinformation contributors.

Nobody is having hard time. The chart in your link (12-mo avg net oil imports) shows a steady decline of net imports since 2005 and suddenly in Jan of 2021 the graph is heading the other direction. That seems to coincide with Joe Brandon taking office and declaring that fossil fuels are dead. He backed up that smack talk with a flurry of EO's on Day One to shut down US oil production and threaten anyone who disagreed. What company wants to invest in hedging their bets against that attitude?

Joe Biden caused this crisis. Joe Biden and the democrats have created or made worse every single crisis that exists right now.

Only if you're stupid. The real turning point was coming out of the pandemic with domestic production at a ridiculously low level and oil companies declining to increase it. They are ramping up now.

You obviously didn't read the link.
What specifically has Biden and his administration done to contribute to this? Raise royalties, cut permits by 80%? Threaten oil companies if their profits are "too high"? Sounds like a formula for energy independence to me.
Inflation in America is the worst it's been in over 40 years, with much of the inflationary pressure coming from soaring fuel prices. On Friday, though, the Biden administration announced with pride that it has refused all but 20% of the requests for oil and gas leases on federal land as well as raising royalty prices for drilling companies. The Biden administration's goal isn't to make life better for ordinary Americans. Its goal, instead, is to serve special interest groups and to chase down and catch the climate change unicorn.

As all of us recall, one of Biden's first acts upon entering the Oval Office was to "pause new oil and natural gas leases on public lands or in offshore waters pending completion of a comprehensive review." Thirteen states sued to stop this executive order. In June 2021, the Louisiana District court issued a nationwide injunction invalidating this moratorium on the grounds that the executive office lacked the power to take such a step.

Rather than lifting the executive order, the administration simply ignored the court's ruling.

I wish people would stop using that term "energy independent". We are not. We are a net exporter of oil, but we are by no means "energy independent". If we were, gas would not be ~$4/gallon.

No President has ever had that impact

...until Joe Brandon.
In about May of 2020 the US oil industry could not compete because of the Saudi /Russian price war where the price of oil got down where it was selling in the Minus region.
Nobody on the right seems to remember that.
The US oil producers went to Trump and put political pressure on him and he went to the Saudi's and TOLD them to cut their production and raise prices or he was going to stop their Military aid,

It was THAT price war that had the US oil producers shut down their wells everybody is trying blame Biden for all of this and that isn't true He had nothing to do with the US oil industry shutting down.
and before this happened we were a NET ENERGY EXPORTER NOT energy independent , we still imported oil about 7 million barrels a day
US oil producers were pumping almost 13 million barrels a day the most ever in Dec 2019, and we were consuming about 20million barrels a day
then the price war and the US production fell to 9.711 million barrels a day in May of 2020
U.S. Field Production of Crude Oil (Thousand Barrels per Day)

a drop of almost 4 Million barrels a day
and as we can see in the chart it was in 2019 BEFORE Biden took office and we can also see production has been on a steady INCREASE since Biden took office NOT DECREASE.
U.S. Field Production of Crude Oil (Thousand Barrels per Day)
Have a nice day

Burn, baby, burn. Burn up more fossil fuels so we can really experience global warming. Put the pedal to the metal. Honk your Dukes of Hazzard horn as humanity goes off the cliff.

Feel free to show your work.

LOL! The graph in the OP's article shows the date energy imports reversed course.

Jesus. You actually have to hold their hands.

So in your view it was Biden who did exactly what to make that occur?

I think Joe should call Trump for advice on this energy thing. Whoever he’s using now stinks, although they are inching closer to Trump policy.

Trump didn't do anything to make us a net oil exporter. US producers had been working towards that for years. It just happened for the first time under Trump. The only reason it stopped was the pandemic. Oil became so cheap that many US producers would have to spend more than the worth of oil to extract it.

Net exporter of energy, not just oil.
