How can they have decided that it was ok to impose mandates for health care workers but not other workers? This Supreme Court is indeed legislating from the bench -- as if they if they had the right to decide on the whether they liked the policy, not whether it was constitutional or not.

The SCOTUS isn't supposed to decide whether a law or rule is a good idea. That's the responsibility of Congress and the President to debate. The SCOTUS only has the charge to decide whether the constitution prohibits the law or rule.

They ruled the other way for the health care workers because that mandate was premised upon the receipt of federal funding. It is long-established precedent that the federal government can attach strings to the money it doles out.

Nope, since it was only some private workers and never presented to congress. It was also based on the completely false idea that ‘fully vaccinated’ workers can’t spread COVID-19 in the workplace, thus need not be masked or tested.

That was a bit of a stretch, but based on the idea that they worked in federally funded medical care institutions. It also did not include moronic masking exemptions for ‘fully vaccinated’ workers, pretending that they could not spread COVID-19.
