WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Friday bolstered religious rights as it ruled in favor of parents who objected to LGBTQ-themed books that a Maryland county approved for use in elementary school classrooms.
The court on a 6-3 vote backed the parents' claim that the Montgomery County Board of Education's decision not to allow an opt-out for their children violated their religious rights under the Constitution's First Amendment, which protects religious expression.
Explain?Decisions like this merely confirm what a hateful religion and what hateful people many Christians are.
It confirms the Constitution does not support little Johnny and Mary learning the joys of oral and anal sex in grade school.Decisions like this merely confirm what a hateful religion and what hateful people many Christians are.
If you need an explanation, then stop being brainwashed by your religion. It's making people hateExplain?
The reasoning of the decision is that simple messages of tolerance and inclusion are repulsive to the plaintiffs’ Christianity. Their religion demands them to be bigoted and hateful to gay people.Explain?
Christians are those people who behave the least like Christ.Explain?
Education turns empty minds into open minds. That's why education is a libtard plot to make our children gay. And books, well, books are just evil.
LGBTQ people exist. They write books. If they're good books, there's no reason to ban them.Education is supposed to inform, not preach about and promote social agendas.
There isn't any reason for schools to be teaching about LGBT issues any more than schools should be teaching about the Bible, Torah, Koran, or any other religious text.
Citing that LGBT people or religions exist is one thing, but getting up at the podium and telling kids how to think, promoting one ideology over another, or actively shaming kids into saying/thinking certain things is a lot of things, but it's certainly not "education."
Not religious, just trying to understand perspective. Why so hateful? Or are you just going to tell me more about what's going on in my head based off a one word reply? If you need an explanation, then stop being brainwashed by your religion. It's making people hate

Just in Catholic confession booths and Republican weekend gatherings where god intended. It confirms the Constitution does not support little Johnny and Mary learning the joys of oral and anal sex in grade school.
I don't know much about Christians or religious values honestly. But Parents should be able to bring their kids up how they want as long as it doesn't intervene with another parents to do the same. The reasoning of the decision is that simple messages of tolerance and inclusion are repulsive to the plaintiffs’ Christianity. This is why faith in America is dying. It is hateful, negative, repressive, and backward looking.
This is how ridiculous they are:I agree with you on that part but the books they showed, such as Uncle Bobby's Wedding, did not appear to have any pornography.
Can you prove they did or they were just LGBTQ themed books?
I see a disconnect between books about sexuality and authors. Are we talking about the subject or the authors' sexuality?LGBTQ people exist. They write books. If they're good books, there's no reason to ban them.
So ignorant, racist parents will raise ignorant, racist children.I don't know much about Christians or religious values honestly. But Parents should be able to bring their kids up how they want as long as it doesn't intervene with another parents to do the same.

So ignorant, racist parents will raise ignorant, racist children.
I'm simply stating nobody should decide what's best for the children other than the ones who we can generally trust the most to make such decisions for their child, the parents. I believe if parents don't want their kids reading lgbtq books that is their decision. So ignorant, racist parents will raise ignorant, racist children.
that was not directed at you. It's to those that subscribe to the fairytales. Not religious, just trying to understand perspective. Why so hateful? Or are you just going to tell me more about what's going on in my head based off a one word reply?
So what?Imagine being a kid with gay family members watching classmates being led out of the classroom because their parents object to it.
