Parents sued Montgomery County, Maryland, schools after it said they couldn't opt their children out of exposure to LGBTQ books in the classroom.

The reasoning of the decision is that simple messages of tolerance and inclusion are repulsive to the plaintiffs’ Christianity. Their religion demands them to be bigoted and hateful to gay people.

This is why faith in America is dying. It is hateful, negative, repressive, and backward looking.

Education is supposed to inform, not preach about and promote social agendas.

There isn't any reason for schools to be teaching about LGBT issues any more than schools should be teaching about the Bible, Torah, Koran, or any other religious text.

Citing that LGBT people or religions exist is one thing, but getting up at the podium and telling kids how to think, promoting one ideology over another, or actively shaming kids into saying/thinking certain things is a lot of things, but it's certainly not "education."
 
LGBTQ people exist. They write books. If they're good books, there's no reason to ban them.

Not religious, just trying to understand perspective. Why so hateful? Or are you just going to tell me more about what's going on in my head based off a one word reply?

I agree with you on that part but the books they showed, such as Uncle Bobby's Wedding, did not appear to have any pornography.

Can you prove they did or they were just LGBTQ themed books?
 
I feel mostly feel bad for the kids whose religious totalitarian parents will demand that they be excused from class during this type of story time.

Almost creates a better learning lesson for the rest of the class.
 
I don't know much about Christians or religious values honestly. But Parents should be able to bring their kids up how they want as long as it doesn't intervene with another parents to do the same.

The female chick, that completes their family, is consequently named "Tango" by the zookeepers. And Tango Makes Three. The book was based on the true story of Roy and Silo, two male chinstrap penguins who formed a pair bond in New York's Central Park Zoo.

And Tango Makes Three has been mentioned in numerous censorship and culture war debates on same-sex marriage, adoption, and homosexuality in animals. The American Library Association (ALA) reports that And Tango Makes Three was the most frequently challenged book from 2006 to 2010, and the second most frequently challenged in 2009.

I'm simply stating nobody should decide what's best for the children other than the ones who we can generally trust the most to make such decisions for their child, the parents. I believe if parents don't want their kids reading lgbtq books that is their decision.
