Since you don't seem able to comprehend my argument perhaps you should explain this "standard of law" concept of yours...please do explain so perhaps I can make some sense of how you imagine our justice system works...there's nothing standard about it unless you are prepared to agree with me it is standard practice that justice served can be quite different for those with money and/or "connections" and those that don't.

None of this is an argument for the case at hand either. If you have the time you may feel free to actually explain what "factoring in some common sense" means because I have no idea how that is policy or something that I can make a rebuttal to. I'm sure we could even agree on thing relating to the drug war or how some felonies are outrageous but that is TOTALLY unrelated to the topic at hand.

Let me try and dumb it down for you if the concept of common sense is an issue for you...

Let's imagine you've got a law that doesn't properly address the problem and in fact, when rigidly adhered to, causes more problems than it is designed to resolve...

get ready for it...(insert drumroll smiley here) factor in some common sense when enforcing the law. I'll grant you that common sense is often lacking in the process our leaders use to make up some of these laws...it's more a political process which gums up the works and common sense goes out the window...politics seems to have a similar effect providing many examples of a lack of common sense on Political Debate forums as well.

You indicate the point I was trying to make using drug law justice to make it is unrelated to the topic at hand...that indicates either a lack of comprehension on your part or you simply wish to ignore the point I was making relative to justice vs legality.

This shouldn't be an issue in the first place. I'm not super pro-trump or zealously anti-Obama but none of this would be an issue if Obama had sent it to the legislature in the first place. Trump is AT LEAST doing that much. The last part is ridiculous. You believe we should be more lenient on specific laws (or outright ignore them) because another area of the United States in in a time of need?

Can't argue with that...Trump is certainly seeking to attack just about anything Obama has done to try and wipe out his legacy...not that I'm concerned about Obama's legacy...I'm more concerned about Trumps lunacy...as to the part in bold...why are you asking me that?

I thought I made that point abundantly clear...you're damn right...I believe in trying to help people and support the actions of others of like mind...perhaps those that make a concerted effort to help, as it appears many are, perhaps Trump should give them a pardon...which would bring us back to the debate of laws vs justice.
