According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, July nonfarm payrolls (NFP) rose 162,000. Expectations were for 185,000 – a big swing and a miss.
Junes’s NFP was revised lower to 188,000.
The unemployment rate fell from 7.5% to 7.4%. The rate dropped because the civilian labor force declined by 37,000 … from 155,835 to 155,798.
Labor force participation rate fell from 63.5% to 63.4%.
If we look at the BLS report, since March 2013, part-time jobs added were 791,000. Full-time jobs added? 187,000. That means that 81% of jobs added since March 2013 were part-time jobs.

Of course the fact that the bulk of jobs taken by the unemployed are part time jobs is not spoken of by Obama and his talking heads. While these part time jobs are taken by unemployed full time workers, teenagers suffer most at over 41% unemployed. Also there's the matter that many of the teenagers seeking employment can barely read or spell. Its easier to sell dope.
