Many in the media along with the socialism loving politicians are acting like the virus is SO so scary..

Well, it is scary..for those who get it, especially those who are obese, have diabetes or hypertension

But 99.99 percent LITERALLY do not have the virus

Msm seems to hate that kind of positive news..didn't get that figure from them.

You take the number of people who have died, subtract that from 330 million, the population of the US, divide that number by the same 330 million

you suck at maths, fyi

0.01% of 330,000,000 is 33,000

We have more active cases than that added each day lately.

Google will do simple math for you through your browser, fyi

And that's only positive tests. Many of us suspect it's quite a bit more, that haven't been tested. I've seen studies claiming it could be 10X higher. As for me, I'm thinking maybe 5% or a bit more.

Unfortunately for us, the virus is soo contagious it can virtually double in the amount of infected persons within weeks if not months. And, it doesn't help that right wingers are still claiming the pandemic is a hoax.

Still true and a good thing too, frankly.

Perhaps nowhere outside the US is America’s bungled virus response viewed with more consternation than in Italy, which was ground zero of Europe’s epidemic. Italians were unprepared when the outbreak exploded in February, and the country still has one of the world’s highest official death tolls at 35,000.

But after a strict nationwide, 10-week lockdown, vigilant tracing of new clusters and general acceptance of mask mandates and social distancing, Italy has become a model of virus containment.

Don’t they care about their health? a mask-clad Patrizia Antonini asked about people in the United States as she walked with friends along the banks of Lake Bracciano, north of Rome.

They need to take our precautions. … They need a real lockdown.” Much of the incredulity in Europe stems from the fact that America had the benefit of time, European experience and medical know-how to treat the virus that the continent itself didn’t have when the first COVID-19 patients started filling intensive care units.

Yet, more than four months into a sustained outbreak, the U.S. reached the 5 million mark, according to the running count kept by Johns Hopkins University. Health officials believe the actual number is perhaps 10 times higher, or closer to 50 million, given testing limitations

Between 15% and 20%. Using the numbers swing_voter quoted, it would be 16.4%.

Ok, I made a mistake... should have said 99.99 percent haven't died from it...

Hey, it's the only mistake I've made in a long time.. :)

So,

Correction

Nearly 99 percent don't have it...not a huge difference...and I am now doing the numbers over again using reliable ..aka Fox numbers.

Ok, I'm done

Here are Fox's figures

5,044,864 which I rounded up to 5,045,000 and subtracted from 330 million
Then divided by 330 million

So I was right

Nearly 99 percent don't have the virus

Over 160,000 dead Americans are pointing at you from the Great Beyond and laughing, asking why you don't understand the word 'socialism' but try and use it anyhow.

They want to know why you hate America.

Fox doesn't have any numbers. It only has poo.
Why do you support poo over our country?

98 percent or so survive. The whole economy should not b to be destroyed over numbers like these. Demand masks in the store ..do the 6 ft apart thing but for God's sake don't shut down the store and mess up the workers and the owner's and customer's lives

Don't expect a lot of the jobs that have not come back to come back. Businesses that have changed their models to account for COVID are going to be very slow to transition back to a pre-covid posture if at all since there is no end in sight. In addition, state and local governments are going to be hiking up taxes and fees and such to try to make up lost revenue which will further discourage businesses from rehiring people they have gotten by without.

It's funny that you can mess this up (more than once apparently):

The math isn't even that hard.

5/330 X 100 = 1.51% of Americans are confirmed to have had the virus.

100 - 1.51 = 98.5

1.51% of people in the US are confirmed to have had the virus and 163,000 are dead.

Some people have suggested we try to get to herd immunity by allowing a much larger percentage of the population to become infected.

Yes, at any given moment it's probably accurate to say that maybe 99.99 don't have the virus at that moment, though I'd have to do some deeper analysis to be sure.

But "at any given moment" isn't relevant.

What's relevant is how many in America have contracted COVID-19 so far: about 5-6 percent of us.

In addition to those who are obese, diabetic, and hypertensive for whom the virus is scary, add elderly and others with other infirmities.

The bottom line with COVID-19 is threefold: 1) how strong is your endothelium, the virus's primary target, 2) is your immune system weakened from fending off something else (like cancer, etc., and 3) do you have a super strong immune system.

If you have a strong endothelium, the lining of vessels, lymphatic and other organs, then you have a good chance of fending off COVID-19 with at most minor symptoms. Young people have a strong endothelium. Older people's endothelium is ravaged by age.

If you're already fighting off something like cancer, diabetes, obesity, and other diseases, or even a case of the flu, your immune system might be too compromised to fight off the virus.

And, if you have a super strong immune system, you could be toast, because if you get a large viral load of contagion then the virus could make its way into your lungs quickly, and then your super strong immune system will attack it so strong that the resultant inflammation will flood your lungs with fluid .. and you'll essentially drown. Even young people have succumbed for this reason.

Even though its IFR is still about 0.58%, meaning less than one in 100 will die from it, still if one doesn't die they often have lingering adverse effects long after they've "recovered".

This is still not a disease anyone wants to contract. Indeed, you never know if you're one of those with a super strong immune system .. until you're drowning.

Right posted this lie before. It was corrected. Right posts same lie. I know the forum has rules for things like civility, but how about one to reduce the abject lying.

5 million Americans have caught the virus (really more), which is well over 1%.

Thread title: Still true: 99.99 percent of Americans don't have the virus

Still questionable.

Nobody really knows how many have the virus....not you, not me....not anybody in part because we don't do organized or even enough testing. CDC released a statement that the actual numbers that have contracted the virus in the US are likely 10x the reported numbers. that would make 5M Americans, 50M Americans.

Is it because they show NO symptoms at all you think?

Hey swing

Tap on another 10 million to your population total of the U.S.

It's 330,000,000

That will lower your %

Sorry for being the Bearer of bad news(LOL)

How many officially tallied as "positive", are false?

So (to make the math easy) if 1 percent of people got the virus and we have 166k deaths, then we multiply the deaths by 100 and get 16.6 million ... that's not good!

But lets say half get the virus for the sake of herd immunity (which is predicted to be somewhere between 40% and 70% of population, but its morning and I am still waking up, so easy math for now) thats 8.3 million dead ... still not good!

From today's Worldometer data:

Total US Covid cases: 5,251,997. Total US Covid deaths: 166,201. Total Covid US recovered: 2,716,593.

US population: 331,000,000

5,251,997 - 166201 - 2,716,593 = Total US Covid active cases = 2,369,203.

(2,369,203/331,000,000) * 100 = current Covid US active cases as a percent of the population = 0.716.

100.000 - 0.716 = 99.28%

Regards, stay safe 'n well.
