Steyer to put more millions into impeachment, not a campaign

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Billionaire investor and Democratic activist Tom Steyer said Wednesday that he will not run for the White House in 2020 and will instead focus on calling for President Donald Trump’s impeachment.

Steyer, who has spent $50 million on his Need to Impeach campaign and announced plans to spend $40 million more this year, said at an event in Des Moines that “the impeachment question has reached an inflection point,” given that Democrats have taken majority control of the House.

I don't know how far impeachment might go, but I don't consider him as electable.

Thank goodness that someone on the Democratic side is matching funds with the Republican greedy manipulators to do a public service. It is evident that the Republicans tired to spend millions in getting rid of Obama but failed. Steyer might just win.

Not sure we have much to discuss here.

Sure, to get the Articles of Impeachment all we need is the House. But to remove Trump you need the Senate. About all Tom Steyer can hope for at this point is advocating for the House to do their part, but without the Senate not much really happens as the Impeachment from the House is nothing more than an Indictment, a trial is another matter and all the money Steyer has will do little to move the Senate to actually do something with the Inpeachment from the House.

Apart from that Tom Steyer was already not a very good candidate, so what do we have to talk about?

With his money, he could try bribery. That usually works with politicos who spend much of their time fund raising for their re-election campaigns.
