Steve King Faces Loss of House Committee Seats Over White Supremacy Remark

Yes, long overdue, but I do hope it continues.

Hence "little".

But I say too little, too late is better than nothing....only just so long as the person delivering it gets only a hair more than no credit.

Maybe I'm in a paranoid mood, but I smell a forming pivot point. A possibly snowballing turn against the more racist elements, which will morph into an explanation for why they totally disapprove of trump "now" (being late 2019, or early 2020) but weren't quite certain earlier, but nevermind their failure to question Trump in race-related questions because hey...look at how they called out King! Look at how they called out [next]!

That's how it will run, if history turns in such a way as to lead them to disapprove of Trump. It may not. But if it does, everyone else is going to have to listen to retroactive defensive statements, and an easy/blatant target like King makes a good vertex.

Perhaps these nazi rallies by Trump were filmed? If so, please share.

That ain't paranoid, that is called hope

That ain't paranoid, that is called hope

It is a bitter hope for me, if hope.

If that pivot point coalesces, it means they did not take responsibility for what they know they should have known, well back into 2016. If it coalesces, it's simply a fall-back position. An "I was only wrong this way, but not in the rest of the ways" position. It might be better than the present situation, but only by the hair of my chin...or ass.

If such a pivot occurs there is little reason to think it genuine, unless the wink wink nudge nudge know what I mean? stuff is addressed too. Otherwise, it's no more than picking off the ones sloppy enough to say what they meant.

Now I'm sure I'm setting myself up to be jumped on dishonestly (not by you). To be clear, I'm not saying all Republicans are racist, or anything like that. But there is a very real pattern of defense of Republican politicians saying bad things and acting in bad ways, as well as a general effort to label any mention of potential influence of racism as "playing the race card." Rep. King over there said what he meant for decades. Don't pretend the rest of you didn't understand earlier.

What is your proof about Trump?

Re-read my post.

Tell me exactly where I said anything regarding Trump.

Why do you keep trying this as some argument tactic? It doesn't work.

Focus on who this thread is about, (hint: his name is in the title of the thread)

I guess if a group of congressmen got together to discuss issues in the white community I would live on your planet, but that is not possible.

They have that. It’s called Congress.

There is no use discussing Representative King's comments. Everyone has his/her opinion as to whether they were "racist" or not.

And no one is going to change those views.

I just wanted to give Representative King a shoutout for the gracious manner in which he accepted his "punishment."

Just heard that Senator Romney has called on Representative King to resign. I agree that this would be a good idea, provided "certain" Democratic members of Congress also resign for their "insensitive" remarks over the years.

If he is removed from the 2 committees, he should IMHO
After years of his racist comments the R Party is finally holding him to account.
The Party will have to work years to remove the stink that many people believe is ignored by the Party

House will also vote on Disapproval against King

The republican Party should categorically state they will not support King in the next election

Good for McCarthy. This is the right thing to do.

This country sure has been changing & not for the better!

But so many mentally disturbed morons are sure that they are the best humans ever, and that they are going to make the world a better place by remaking humans....we are going to be fit for UTOPIA whether we want to be or not!

I think Republicans who allow themselves to unfairly discriminate against and mistreat one of their own for stupid unjust politically incorrect reasons are not good leaders.

Exactly, that's why I refuse to donate to the Republican Party anymore!

The problem is that leftist groups do not understand history. The nazis were far left, and conservatives despise them for it. Leftists seem to at least try to project socialism like the nazis on the right, which makes no sense whatsoever. The nazis were big government socialists, embracing political correctness and concentration camps to back up said political correctness.

You're indulging into pretzel like contortions trying to make an ill conceived point. The Nazi's were far right nationalists whose
hated communists (leftists) & deemed themselves the master race.
They intended to rid their nation of all non germanic peoples & they didn't care how.
More similar to the germans of Bismarck's or Frederick the Great's time than the
German's of today who have been apologizing till they are blue in the face for past deeds.

The German's of today have gone over the top PC "Uber allies' has been removed from the national anthem.
They are leftwing the Nazi's were not.

Apparently, things are only going to get worse for Steve king. One of his fellow representatives, Bobby Rush, announced today that he is introducing a resolution in the House of Representatives that will formally Censure Steve King for the pattern of xenophobic comments he has said during his career.

https://rush.house.gov/media-center...e-king-s-rabid-racism-with-censure-resolution

Wasn't Bobby Rush one of the most prominent members of the Black panthers in the 60's, I wouldn't 'erect a cathedral' around the views
of Rush.

Utopian thinking idealogues are eternally swimming upstream, that's a backbreaker. Ethnonationalism is not resurgent it never died.
It continues to be & nearly always has been the world in which we live in the most powerful movement.

This is the same :bs that got DJT elected.

Why would the prominent Democrats and Trump haters suddenly care anything about what Romney thinks?
Suddenly Romney is Nancy Pelosi's new bff and the haters newest hero. Hahaha!

Remember when Pelosi and her lemmings cast Romney out as a racist leperd? In 2012, Pelosi characterized candidate Romney as a tax-dodging bigot.

What changed?

meh... I'm in the boat of **** romney and **** trump too. Doesn't seem to fit that neatly in the prebuilt boxes you just made.

Precut holes with seams for anyone with a valid Scandinavian passport.

I think our difference of opinion highlights the stupidity of how we deal with political differences as human beings. Both "sides" want to hurl examples of why the Nazis belong to the "other side". The only way we can truthfully debate this issue is to point out the similarities "our side" and the "other side" has with the Nazis, Stalinists, Maoists, Pol Pot, Stalin, Castro, Che, Chavez, Maduro. I think my side has a pretty good argument. As for whether the terms "left wing" and "right wing" have any meaning any more is up in the air, makes no sense to me.
