Steve King Faces Loss of House Committee Seats Over White Supremacy Remark

I saw Kevin McCarthy on the Sunday shows and he looked honestly pissed at King, and came across to me as truly done with Steve King and his bigoted racist nonsense and looked as if he would be glad to see him go - and quickly.

Made me feel better about him, McCarthy that is.

I wonder if trump is going to hire Steve king if Congress miraculously votes to expel Steve king?

Good point. If King isn't allowed to say what he thinks, how would we know what a racist asshat he is?

I think Republicans who allow themselves to unfairly discriminate against and mistreat one of their own for stupid unjust politically incorrect reasons are not good leaders.

The voters are the ones who decide, not the Washington Elite.

Why don't you set up a poll to show them so? I bet you'd get a lot of people to vote in it. We could see where the DP intelligentsia really stands.

Another good point: If the Washington Elite get themselves in the habit of overruling the votes of the citizens this nation will eventually be burned to the ground in anger.

He should lose rank and position in these committees, this dip**** has now nationalized his position on “white nationalism” and it has come back to bite him in the ass.

Those that votes to keep this guy in office all this time should be ashamed of their choice.

This guy has to stand for election every two years, make your case to his voters then next time if you think that you must insert yourself here.

I guess I can kind of understand what is said a little, but it is so out of touch. I think that perhaps what he was saying is why is it so evil to hear terms like white supremacy and white nationalism, when all of that is perfectly okay for other races?

China and Japan do not allow other races to immigrate to their countries because they believe it would destroy or harm their unique culture. I really don't see the left attacking that, the left has a particular fetish for attacking white countries with incredible zeal, as if they wish to destroy white majority countries in a vindictive way.

Are there non-Chinese people who want to immigrate to China?

Problem is, we never had a unique culture, even when colonies: royalists in Virginia, Catholics in Maryland, convicts in Georgia, etc.

And true, we on the left hate Norway.

Yet you call out Norway as an ideal socialist state, when Norway is not the socialist state you imagine. Funny thing is, Denmark is not the socialist state you imagine. You may want to do a little more research before you point out how "socialist" the European countries are.

Is it? When was the last time in the US a group was called the Congressional Black Caucus, or the United Negro College Fund, or La Raza, or any other "racist" group if the color was different?

Laughably idiotic.

Who will get angry and burn it down? Please guys with tiki torches.

Ooooh...its the ELITE!!!!

Hyperbolic bilge.

Article I, Section 5, bro.

According to that article, he DID lose those positions.

The problem is that leftist groups do not understand history. The nazis were far left, and conservatives despise them for it. Leftists seem to at least try to project socialism like the nazis on the right, which makes no sense whatsoever. The nazis were big government socialists, embracing political correctness and concentration camps to back up said political correctness.

Right, the modern day left in the United States welcomes blacks, whites, Jews, Muslims, Christians, LBGT, atheists and others, and it's just like the Nazis who slaughtered all those groups, except for the Aryans, like the Nazis killed the socialists and liberals in Germany at that time.

Goodness, the irony meter shattered with that comment. It's a wonder you can type that and not have the massive cognitive dissonance of what you're saying incapacitate you from performing simple tasks.

I wonder if trump is going to hire Steve king if Congress miraculously votes to expel Steve king?

And yet there is not one comment from Trump that would define him as being racist. Perhaps the left should start to put up arguments that confirms Trump's notorious racism?

Based on this one incident, which is all I am commenting on, I agree with him that words such as white supremacy and white nationalism should not be so easily used to put down an entire race of people, silencing them in shame. Other races obviously have great privileges which white people do not have

Racist BS.

I have to laugh at this and it makes me question some of the people in Congress. Let’s face it this is the same BS that happened to Megyn Kelly on NBC.

We shouldn’t be afraid of the words white supremacy or white nationalism. We should be having all out discussions. Now if his views or comments were in any way supporting it or promoting it then I would have concern.

So he had to piss someone off somewhere

This is the same :bs that got DJT elected.

Why would the prominent Democrats and Trump haters suddenly care anything about what Romney thinks?
Suddenly Romney is Nancy Pelosi's new bff and the haters newest hero. Hahaha!

Remember when Pelosi and her lemmings cast Romney out as a racist leperd? In 2012, Pelosi characterized candidate Romney as a tax-dodging bigot.

What changed?

Why would you limit the discussion to this one incident, and not him embracing neo-Nazi and other scum in bear hugs lately? Or the many comments that had the NRCC abandon him before the last election, or the many comments pre-2016? It's one incident after another, with no break and no learning from King - this is who he is, and it's been clear YEARS before now but has for some reason gotten to the point that the GOP cannot pretend anymore and cannot ignore it any longer. He's bad for the party.

And "white supremacy" is a toxic ideology. We have a history of it in this country. If you want to go back to Jim Crow, just say it. If not, nothing wrong with condemning the beliefs that fueled it. Doing so doesn't "put down an entire race of people, silencing them to shame" unless they're white supremacists. I'm white and reject that ideology. It's not putting me down or silencing me to condemn it.

The modern left does not welcome anyone, the modern left simply attacks whites as a means of virtue signalling. The left is very racist against whites, just is the prior left lead the racist charge against black people in the past.

The modern left also invents new groups of supposed victims, people of "all different genders". What a laugh that is when there are only 2, and the left now claims hundreds or thousands of imaginary genders. The left is racist because it uses division to achieve political power. The left does not have the right to throw off its massive baggage (the KKK, slavery, Jim Crowe, opposition to civil rights) and claim that somehow conservatives "did that".

The truth is that democrats can never erase their stain, that is why we conservatives find ourselves trying to preserve history when the mobs move to tear down statues of democrats. We want people to remember the history of democrats.

I do not keep up with King, I do not know what else he has said.

Racist BS.

No, it isn't.

It's abundantly clear that anyone with a room temp IQ can decipher that King was talking about opportunistic, partisan, race card players.

If he is removed from the 2 committees, he should IMHO
After years of his racist comments the R Party is finally holding him to account.
The Party will have to work years to remove the stink that many people believe is ignored by the Party

House will also vote on Disapproval against King

The republican Party should categorically state they will not support King in the next election

https://thehill.com/homenews/house/425310-house-to-vote-on-punishing-steve-king

This what he said:

White nationalist, white supremacist, Western civilization — how did that language become offensive?” King said in the interview. “Why did I sit in classes teaching me about the merits of our history and our civilization?”

There is nothing wrong with being a member of a race that among other things, changed the world for the better. It was not the long ago that in most of the world slavery was an accepted norm, children were property that could be used in anyway the owner chose, and could be sold. Many races were still in the stone age when they were “enlightened” or “exploited” by Spain, Portugal, France, England, and others predating the USA.

The United States began its constitution with “We the people” without any reference to race. Seeing racism in every phrase is just exercise we go through to try to keep the tribes happy. Let King’s constituents decide.

People in their attempt at “averaging” the races are running a fools errand. What counts is not competition between races, but competition between countries for democratic economic dominance ragardless of who lives in it.
