Remember that AZ State Representative that made the racist statements a few times a few months ago?

Yeah....it just got worse for him. BTW, he is a staunchly conservative, "family values" kind of guy. Oh, and he was found guilty of three counts of

State Rep. David Stringer Charged With Child Porn in 1983, Court Records Show

Arizona State Representative David Stringer was charged with multiple sex offenses, including child pornography, when he lived in Baltimore in 1983, according to Maryland State Court records.

Stringer — a Republican lawmaker from Prescott who's been under fire in recent months for making racist statements — was indicted on five sex offenses on October 10, 1983, according to a microfilm copy of his case history obtained by Phoenix New Times from the Circuit Court for Baltimore City.

That record appears to show a Maryland court entered a judgment of guilt for Stringer on three sex offenses. The case history also shows that he was sentenced to five years of probation in the case, and was ordered to seek treatment at a well-known clinic for people with sexual disorders.

And the weird part:

Details of Stringer’s charges are hard to come by. That’s by design.

Stringer’s case record was expunged by the Maryland Judiciary in 1990, according to Detective Jeremy Silbert of the Baltimore Police Department.

Nadine Maeser, a spokesperson for the Maryland Judiciary, said the microfilm of Stringer’s case history was provided to New Times in error.

"Because the law prohibits reviewing and disclosing information from an expunged record, you are instructed to destroy or return these records immediately,” Maeser wrote in a letter after New Times sought clarification about Stringer’s case history.

"New Times lawfully obtained documents involving criminal charges against a controversial Arizona legislator,” said New Times Editor Stuart Warner. "It is not only our right to publish them, it is our duty.”

And here is the kicker, they were talking about this on the radio today here: he is a practicing attorney and a member of the State Bar of Arizona, which requires its members to disclose any convictions, whether they were expunged or not.

This guy has been a real piece of work, he got re-elected in November (if you have been to his district, you would understand why...it's not made up of rocket scientists). After his racist statements, the republican governor asked him to resign, he didn't, and he was stripped of all of his committees. Yesterday, before this story broke, he made a big public apology in front of the AZ House and Senate for his racist statements.

You can't make stuff like this up....

You would think we would have learned after our last racist toupee'd disaster, Governor Ev Mecham who was impeached and convicted and removed from office. BTW, my old roomate worked at the PBS station here, she did his makeup for a TV show, and nearly knocked his wig off, she was mortified....:lamo

Why was his record expunged? That rarely happens, and only if the person is either pardoned by executive order or the conviction is later overturned by the court. It looks like this was done by the court, so there has to be a problem with the original conviction?

I'm not defending the maggot, I'm just curious about the facts.

Not sure, this is a very new story. The radio station is just starting to talk about it. The Arizona Republic hasn't posted anything yet...they got scooped by their competitor...

Governor Ducey just called on Stringer to resign.....again.

I dont think I can actually SAY "Get a rope......."

So I wont. And wouldnt advocate anyone actually harm the man.

but........it is an appropriate sentiment

Nothing says family values like child porn.

Oh wow. When I was first started reading I thought, “how the hell did he get elected then?” But they accidentally released his expunged record. Interesting sequence of events.

Anyone who is still surprised by another right wing "family values" conservative being exposed for immorality and/or sexual perversion is either a delusional idelogue, or simply has not been paying attention to the last 150 years of American political history.
