State owned oil. GOP start your legislation

And the democrats should introduce a bill terminating all permits on federal lands that are not being drilled with 90 days...
LOL!!

Your suggestion is designed to eliminate all drilling, isn't it?

Say a company gets a permit and is ready to drill. What happens? Some government-supported environmental group files a lawsuit...a judge issues an injunction...and your bill would terminate the permit.

New oil reserves are worthless to the American people if the oil companies are just going to sit on them...
The American people don't care who owns the oil or where it comes from. They don't want to pay $5 bucks+ a gallon at the pump for their Trucks and cars. And let's not forget that higher gas prices hurts the poor more than any other group. That is right in Biden's wheelhouse.

I don't see dishonesty. The fact of the matter is Trump lost because of Covid. No disagreement there right? The economy

How does introducing a bill that eliminates the potential of new oil reserves and lower prices help Biden? He already has the Sierra Club vote.
Interesting points. Although, all we have heard from the Right is all of Americans oil issues are caused by Biden.

As you and many, even on the Right, the oil shortage is absolutely the fault of big oil.

So should the Right who is outraged by Putin oil, high prices be attacking big oil? Well of course, because that is the root of the problem

There you go...another boogyman. Now it's Trump/Russia.

Please...just stop being dishonest.

It's Obama who wanted coal produced energy to cost so much the industry would go out of business. And it's Obama who is working with his puppet's administration to make oil so expensive that people will pay the higher costs for alternative energy...and driving the oil industry out of business.
As you present boogey men

It's meant to call the bluff on those squatting on the 9,000+ approved permits... We will stop the clock on any permit subject to litigation... deal?

What makes you think the oil companies have an incentive to lower prices?

Biden did not inherit any "energy policy". He inherited a country (and world) recovering from COVID19, and the oil industry was also a victim. Low oil prices forced several companies to close up shop, and others to stop production at sites that were high cost to get the oil. As the economy ramped up, production couldn't keep up because of the shuttering of so many sites.

Sure, Biden tried to stop leases on Federal lands, but he has not been successful. The US is on track to produce more oil in 2022 and 2023 than ever in history. But he can't do anything about OPEC keeping the prices inflated by limiting their own production.
They will ignore the oil production facts and keep ignoring it. After all it blows up all of their anti Biden oil rhetoric

Horseshit. From the day he took office the only active steps Biden took was to undo the Trump policies, especially energy and immigration. And look how badly he has managed to **** it all up, thanks to the morons that put him in office.
You make several good points but call the people that voted for Biden morons is a mistake.

You make great sense. However, we both know that logic has a very little to do with election results. If it did would we be in this mess?

What makes you think the oil companies have an incentive to lower prices?
They don't. Political parties do. They make the rules and create tax benefits/penalties. See the difference?

I don't support nationalization of the oil industry. I do support public sector energy production to compete with the oil industry, put downward pressure on prices, and pivot us towards the next energy model.

There is plenty of oil in the USA. The oil giants are keeping a ton in the ground. This price gouging is not necessary. Corporations are lying to we the consumers. Our best tool to challenge manipulation using
less and less and less fossil fuels. Too many elected officials are on the take therefore we must take the
law into our own hands. Cut back 50%.
Absolutly correct. Current high gas prices are NOT inflation, thye are deliberate price gouging.

Marathon Oil said oil and natural gas production won’t increase this year as it concentrates on pouring cash into dividends and share buybacks ...

All about messenging. The Right has the best political messenger: Fox

Especially with a complicated issue like oil.

Show your work then. Show us how Biden has stopped a single oil company from putting out more oil.

It encourages them to increases the supply.

Again, who is to blame for the oil issue.

Well trump did nothing when demand went very low and production went very low. Oh yeah he spun some political bullshit.

Biden lost in court the public land drilling.

I have read most post on this forum about oil and it appears most conclusions point to the oil companies.

Regardless your intentions, you would unleash unintended consequences.

If you know about those consequences in advance, guess what...they are no longer unintended.

Just admit you want to end the oil industry, eh?

You have some seriously stupid positions, guided by your blind partisan hatred.

Biden inheriited an energy policy that resulted in the US become energy independent and a net exporter of oil and natural gas...and that literally had **** all to do with government ownership of the oil in dustry. If Biden and the moronic ****wits that support him werent so blindly invested in a failed green energy program and making sure they undid everything Trump accomplished (not because it was the right thing to do but purely out of sheer spite and hatred), we wouldnt be in this mess in the first place. He had one job...just dont **** up the progress made. Unfortunately, when Obama said "Never underestimate Joe's ability to **** things up"...he wasnt kidding.
More anti American right wing bullshit. You are full of it.

I don't want to end the oil industry at all... I would prefer to have them represent a much smaller part of our energy needs but that is not really an option in the next few months. Do YOU think the oil industry benefits from HIGH or LOW prices? Which do THEY prefer?

Yea that is exactly what happened those awesome Trump policies were soo wonderful.
