This was hilarious. The audio from C-Span was very good, so you could catch bits of his convo with Jackson and especially Kucinich that I bet their constituents wouldn't be so happy with.

Who was that freaky lady who grabbed him and then kissed him? You could see her hand on his arm pulling at him while he was talking to someone else. She kept pulling till she finally got him. There's something kind of gross about all that. Alot of those people should at least pretend to have a little self dignity.

Some people seem to think that these people are locked in an internal struggle with one another, as if good versus evil, and that they can never be cordial with one another. And if they are, it is hilarious, or deceitful. Bizarre.

Well on MSNBC they said Kucinich got his moment with the prez and then circled around again to get another moment! Respect is one thing but when it borders on creepy adoration you open yourself up to be laughed at. Kucinich and the like should make some small attempt to at least pretend to be dignified.

The "crazy lady" in white who pawed at the President on his way out of the SOTU and planted a big wet one on him is none other than my Congresswoman, Rep. Michele Bachmann, of Minnesota's Sixth District. I am so ashamed.

Who is the hypocrite here? If they did not reach out to the President you and your right-wing radio heros (specifically Hannity here....where you got this talking point)...would have said that they were being distant and arrogant.

Geez....you can't win with you guys. You have something negative to say either way.

Well, didn't Bush state if your not with us your against us? Bizarre that some might actually think the President of the United States actually ment what he said?

Sometimes retoric is just retoric. Perhpas that is why many don't vote or watch State of the Union speeches.

I was suprized how many text voted that the speach was excelent. 85% on one network. I thought it was okay; but, nothing to move anyone's opinion. And I would have liked for him to have given something to move my opinion. Something to make me think this war is worth while instead of a mistake.

I enjoyed his speech. I thought it was well tempered and gave the appearance of willingness to cooperate. Of course, nobody swallows that crap but it was a nice gesture.

I like the idea of getting a grip on our oil consumption and putting the Middle East out of our minds. I heard the idea on balancing the budget and ending the defecit. I liked the idea about getting a grip on the earmarks too. (Of course, the GOP can't be too happy about that.)

But, too much, too little, too late. Hardly anybody trusts Bush and his minions anymore. Even many of his own butt-buddies are jumping ship like rats on a firey frigate.

The best he can do now is lay low, kiss babies, and keep his mouth shut and perhaps he might be able to slip out the back door of the White House with a shred of dignity. Time will tell.

No doubt about it, still smarting from the A** whipping they got in November. Any and everything for a cheap partisan jab.

And they've gotta get over that Pelosi thing, she's gonna drive 'em nuts. (I'll let you insert your own joke here...LOL... )

30% still do, but you're right it was, finally, a nice 'gesture'. That's what happens when your 'capital' is bankrupt.

Would anything have changed if Americans hadn't finally had their fill of the cons and switched control of Congress?
Why are so many Republican congressmen now aborting the Mehlman party line and aligning themselves with what Americans have said they wanted?
Did it take an election and ouster of many of their colleagues for them to understand that they were serious?

I have my own ideas about the earmarks. I think the GOP wouldn't mind making the earmarks more transparent for the next little while. I have a sneaky suspicion that by taking those earmarks away, they may be able to cripple some of the democrats campaign promises. It'll make em look bad. If the democrats protest, it still makes em look bad by exposing where all the earmarks were originating from. Not sure how that one is going to play out, but I think it will play to a Republican advantage.

I dont think you understand the difference between hating a person and hating the person's politics. While they may like him as a person they do not like his politics. How would that make them hypocritical?

There you go!!! Perfect...

Now, if people in Washington and on this board would understand that... There are people that can't separate politics and the man/woman and therefore, if that person has a different political stance than them, they demonize and hate on that person... I never disliked or hate Bill Clinton even if I disagreed with him on a lot of things...

Some of the people that I get along best with are people that have different political views than myself...

I understand fully and agree. One of my best friends is a die hard Republican. In fact I am to be a groomsman at his wedding. Go figure!
