Is Uncle Vlad upsetting the babies by moving his cardboard troops during night time ?

No wonder the US has such a perfect losing record . Top bleating but no results .

Wow, it's lucky that all those Russian troops were so close by for their training exercise when the Donbass regions declared independence and asked for support. What a wacky coincidence.

Seriously though, it's time to drop the apologist line. Russia is clearly just invading another country. It's so unambiguous at this point.

Ukraine security council calls for state of emergency

Ukraine defence council backs nationwide state of emergency

Ukraine is now calling reservists back to service, and are advicing Ukrainian nationals living in Russia to leave the country immediately. Meanwhile even more Russian troops are amassed at the border. Japan, Australia and Canada joins US, UK and EU with imposing sanctions.
Russia is pretty resistant to sanctions by design. They have a grain surplus and have largely tried as much as they can to cut themselves off from the global economy. Still, they are far from completely self sufficient, and the oligarchs and business leaders are definitely going to feel the heat though.

Ukraine has a fairly large reservist force. However, Russia's is much larger. Hopefully Ukraine's has enough forces to stall out the invasion to the point it becomes too costly.

Funny how ALL of your "Do your own research" takes are wronger than hell.

Ya boi just invaded the sovereign soil of another country and here you are calling it a regular "exercise." Because OF COURSE you would.

Don't talk to me about CIA misinfo. I'm a socialist. I've read all the books on CIA misinfo. What's incredible to me is that you are able to spin all this as CIA misinfo when it is clearly just misinfo from the Russian side this entire time. Like they aren't even doing a good job of it. Our misinfo is actually much more insidious and harder to spot. Most of their "false flags" and excuses have downright lazy.

It's a liberation. The liberation of minority ethnic Russians from oppression by majority ethnic Ukrainians of Ukraine.

We can only hope that the only real deterrence against Putin would be the possibility that the Ukrainians make it as costly for them as possible.

I think it is too late for deterrence, honestly. At this point I believe it will come to conflict and Ukraine's only "victory" can be a US in Vietnam kind of victory. At a point the war will become too unpopular, too costly, and too long for Russia to continue it.

Today, across the border of every single African country, live our countrymen with whom we share deep historical, cultural and linguistic bonds.

At independence, had we chosen to pursue states on the basis of ethnic, racial or religious homogeneity, we would still be waging bloody wars these many decades later.

Instead, we agreed that we would settle for the borders that we inherited, but we would still pursue continental political, economic and legal integration. Rather than form nations that looked ever backward into history with a dangerous nostalgia, we chose to look forward to a greatness none of our many nations and peoples had ever known.

We chose to follow the rules of the Organisation of African Unity and the United Nations charter, not because our borders satisfied us, but because we wanted something greater, forged in peace.

We believe that all states formed from empires that have collapsed or retreated have many peoples in them yearning for integration with peoples in neighboring states. This is normal and understandable. After all, who does not want to be joined to their brethren and to make common purpose with them?

However, Kenya rejects such a yearning from being pursued by force. We must complete our recovery from the embers of dead empires in a way that does not plunge us back into new forms of domination and oppression.

We rejected irredentism and expansionism on any basis, including racial, ethnic, religious or cultural factors. We reject it again today.

Just like the Anschluss was the liberation of Germans and not at all an act of aggression amirite?

And by the way, ethnic Russians do not comprise even a slight majority of the populations of either Donetsk or Luhansk.

I don’t think Donetsk is the sovereign soil of Ukraine by any classical definition. Maybe the American empire claims it is by neoliberal magic dust, but not controlling territory means it’s not yours under classical definition

Too much is made of Anschluss. There have been many liberations before and since:

1974 Turkey invaded north Cyprus in a little Anschluss of its own. And Turkey is still part of the Club

1995 Croatia in a blitz blew up the Serbian Krajina in a six day Anschluss. The Serbian minorities were immediately evicted. Croatia is still part of the Nato Club.

Felt this was fitting

Yeah i don't think comparing Putin's actions to Turkey and Croatia is the flex you think it is bro, cause **** both of em.

I'm a goddamn socialist, you apparently mistake my hatred of Putin for love of NATO.

I think that particular poster is far right, but the point still stands. This situation has really exposed the asses of a lot of people claiming to be "leftists". Even Chomsky made some dumb statements. Really disappointing.

The logical conclusion of this line of reasoning is that might makes right and any nation-state can just ****ing take what they want provided they have the force and will to do so, and the people on the wrong end of the invasion are just supposed to take it up the ass.

We live in the 21st century dawg.

Yeah i was just making the point that the horseshoe theory/stethoscope theory has been well in effect lately. I absolutely despise tankies for instance who think Uighur internment is a CIA op. Like somehow it's only possible for the West to despise Muslims and nobody else lol.

I am only addressing a common inconsistent by many. Maybe not you, if you object to all Anschlusses. It is not the case with others. The fact of the matter is Anschlusses appear to be good when it is by members of the Nato Club but evil when it is by Serbs and Russians

Some people's entire political ideology really just seems to be being anti-America. The more anti-America they are the most leftist they think they are. The end result is people who claim to be "leftist" defending Assad because he is an American geopolitical enemy. Or defending Russia's "fight against Western imperialism". Then Tucker Carlson agrees with them and they hold hands in their fight against Western degeneracy.

You are too kind. From the lips of western politicians you would be forgiven if they left you with the impression there is not a single ethnic Russian in Donbass. Some even question whether Crimeans even are pro Russian. In the script of the Nato Club ethnic Russian minorities are not indigenous people with a right to have their issues addressed. They are Russian implants or 5th columnists

Oh boy don't get me started on what Tulsi Gabbard has been up to lately lmao

Yeah idiot leftists who think being pro-leftist means being anti-American and pro-China/Russia/Syria or whatever are a bunch of smoothbrains.
