The State Department on Tuesday expressed concerns over the makeup of the new interim Afghan government announced by the Taliban, including the lack of female leaders and the past actions of some of those appointed to top posts.
A State Department spokesperson said in a statement shared with The Hill that although the Taliban "has presented this as a caretaker cabinet," the U.S. "will judge the Taliban by its actions, not words."
"We have made clear our expectation that the Afghan people deserve an inclusive government," the spokesperson added.
We can voice our concerns, they still will do as they wish...and we can also refuse to recognize their government authority since it was obtained via a coup. We have their money....they won't last long without it.

The State Department is now scolding the Taliban for not having enough diversity and inclusion in their terrorist organization. I'm not sure what they expected to happen when the country was handed over, but this seems like a weak response.
Seems a really odd thing to be focused on when 4 of the 5 (I think that's correct) were released from Gitmo (worst of the worst terrorists) in exchange for Bergdhal.

Terrorists gonna do what terrorists do. As long as there is nothing more powerful than them to remove them they won't leave power. Demands will come next, then killings. We can voice our concerns, they still will do as they wish...and we can also refuse to recognize their government authority since it was obtained via a coup. without money, their government will soon collapse. Their are competing groups for power...so, they won't last long unless they cede on certain things.Terrorists gonna do what terrorists do. It looks like there's a decent chance that China will make friends and prop them up to profit from the situation.without money, their government will soon collapse. Their are competing groups for power...so, they won't last long unless they cede on certain things.
oh, I am not sure about that...China will be there long enough to extract what benefits them and then drop them like yesterday's news.It looks like there's a decent chance that China will make friends and prop them up to profit from the situation.
I hope you're right.oh, I am not sure about that...China will be there long enough to extract what benefits them and then drop them like yesterday's news.

We should have built a female military there.
Not sure the nation was handed over to them since they controlled the vast majority of it when we left.
I find it stunning that the State Department thought there would be even a single female in the Taliban government. It’s absurd.

I am not very trusting of the Taliban...I guess it comes from their history and some of their present actions as well. The Taliban forbid females from receiving an education or working in previous times....and they would kill them if they were caught becoming literate. I would suspect that some have moderated their views, but they are having a horrific time spreading the news to other Taliban groups....they need to establish a government with laws and penalties for violating those laws...including Taliban that violate said laws....then they need to work very hard on literacy rates and life expectancy in their country.I suspect they'd have been a little less keen to stand down at corrupt commanders' orders.
our State department has always been fairly out of touch with reality...it didn't start with this administration.because the taliban would be BETTER if it had more women? That's the difference between a humane government, and well...the taliban? Men?
Sounds like to me that our state department is a ****ing joke. If they're going to play this game, at least show some balls and voice your concerns over the lack of christians, jews, and hindus in their gov.
When are they going to get around to "voicing concerns" over the 100's of Americans they left behind?
The US State Department is filled with out-of-touch dumbasses.

Yeah, it wasn't so much that we handed it over, but rather that we left and the nigh-puppet government we had in place folded like the house of cards we had built it to be.We should have built a female military there.

I think voicing concern is one of the steps on a long and tedious road, containing diplomacy, sanctions, general ****ery, and probably more conflict/violence.Well, then, the Taliban are sure to start including the ladies.
After all, our State Department has voiced its concern.
So, of course, the Taliban leaders must be shaking in their boots.
Come on Man! President Biden said he thinks the Taliban are in the midst of an existential crisis to decide if they want to be a valid government in the global community. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!Well, then, the Taliban are sure to start including the ladies.

I have no idea what this is trying to convey as it's a garbled mix of words that appear out of place. However, can you elaborate here? You actually believe Biden may want to go to war with the Taliban for not having enough women in government, but not for refusing to let our allies leave, oppressing women, killing dissidents, etc? That's quite the conspiracy theory and a very self-unaware response. But, at least it isn't a defense of terrorists so progress has been made. Congratulations.Yeah, you just totally owned those libs.
Or maybe he wants us to go back into Afghanistan to use force to make the Taliban put women in power and he's legit mad that the State Dept. chose to use words to reply to words? lol, right. Another bad faith post; "I was told to hate Biden" spam. . . .
