~ In a very short time the US will have a "split " Congress no longer controlled by one party.
Many political science enthusiasts feel a split Congress is an assurance of balance in government - one of the ingenious ideas of the Founders created to give the people more control over their elected officials.
Being an unusual time in American politics with an active investigation of a sitting president , potential corruption in the FBI & Department 0f Justice exposed to the public, and seemingly endless divisiveness between the Parties stalls any meaningful progress , will a split Congress help or hurt the Nation?* Will it make any difference at all ?

What say you* ...?

A split Congress IS ideal. But like most other things...it can be a two edged sword.

When Congress critters are not being obstinate its a good way to get bi-partisan work done. Where neither side gets everything that they want but they get enough to satisfy them...(at least of now...).

On the flip side when Congress critters are being obstinate it can wreck havoc. For instance, government shutdowns are more likely to happen because neither side is giving an inch and trying to take a mile.

Obviously we are going to have a very obstinate group of Congress critters this season. And I've got a feeling that some of the newer members will make the above expressed obstinance seem like a picnic in heaven with a choir of angels singing.

Given the fact that we allow both Parties to be bribed by huge Corporate lobbies, I don't expect much change. Money talks, bullcrap walks"? Until someone is elected that is determined to eliminate the Patriot Act and Citizens United and the agencies that have been created in support of or as a result of these Acts, we be Screwed.
