Take, take, take - the motto of the EU. Now the swines are hot on the idea of a tax on every financial transaction:

It didn't take the Polish Establishment long to go back to the ways they were used to under communism. Back then the people always strangled in tax 'for the common good' too!
We're already involuntarily paying the pirates of the European 'Union' £15 billion as it is. And even then, to my knowledge, that's just the running costs. Additional taxes levied on the EU's behalf, including the VAT which was a condition of entry, run to amounts which don't bear thinking about.
And with the EU now bidding to directly tax us on its own behalf, the journey down the post-Lisbon road to full dictatorship is by far on the way.

We've already surrendered powers to tax only for the benefit of ourselves and other full control over our currency. Our new fuhrer van Rumpuy now has control over our foreign policy, our legal system is subservient to Europe, as are our fishing and agricultural policy as well as other things like independent control of the civil service.
...And STILL nobody has ever told us what all this power is truly in aid of, other than power for its own sake and the ultimate prestige for the world's most irrelevant ivory-tower political cranks!

And it's not as if the extra money will buy us quality, only more corruption. With every extra Pound and Euro our masters receive, the more they squander, featherbed and denude funds needed to keep our impoverished and inadequately-pensioned old folk from dying of cold and hunger!
