Arlen Specter, who is chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, has stated that he is dubious about Bush's reasons to bypass the FISA law and conduct warrantless wiretapping. Specter also stated that he would support the impeachment of Bush, if the Judiciary Committee finds that Bush broke the law in conducting the warrantless wiretaps. The Judiciary Committee will be holding hearings on the matter next month.
