He's talking about the British- French naval bombing campaign in the Baltic Sea I suspect. It's called the Åland war in Finland, because despite many Finnish coastal towns were bombed, the big happening was the fall of the Fortress of Bomarsund on the Åland Islands.

He mentioned the Baltic and SP (Saint Petersburg?) being threatened and he is, rarely clear (or correct) with his history.

Well the aim of the Anglo- French campaign was to destroy the Russian navy at Kronstadt. However the failure to take Sveaborg (outside Helsinki) delayed the plan, but it was still on and would have happened in 1856, but the Russians sued for peace before it was put in action.

You know all we really need is for during the Russian invasion for a Russian SU-25 to drop a bomb on ship from a NATO nation.

Then the entire argument about whether the U.S. and NATO should intervene would be over.

There WAS NO LIBERAL ORDER at the time of Crimea. It was European and Ottoman Colonizing Empires against RUSSIA.

RUSSIA had no "colonies".

Finland was a Grand Duchy within the Russian Empire. GDL was nothing at that time but Russian territory.
