Cool video of the Falcon rocket returning. It made a wet landing so it may be salvageable due to a soft touchdown.

IIRC, this was the first time a rocket was used for a third flight and due to the easy landing, it may continue to keep going. SpaceX is so badass!

It's junk.

If it's not too deep they can recover it, but the thermal stress of dunking a running rocket engine in cold water - salt water no less - pretty much wrecked the expensive parts.

Disagreed. Yes, there's a corrosion problem, but that can be solved by disassembly, cleaning, inspection and reassembly. The video mentioned reuse for "internal" purposes probably testing.
