On this day in 1963, the Mississippi State University basketball team slipped out of town to play in the NCAA tournament against Loyola University. Mississippi officials had refused to allow the team to play in any tournament that included integrated teams. This time, the State team took matters into its own hands, defying a state injunction. Dubbed “The Game of Change,” it played a key role in the crumbling of segregation in Mississippi and the South. The Loyola team that defeated Mississippi State went on to win the national championship.

A lot of GOP people would love to get back to the good-ol-days, ..when an ignorant, nasty hillbilly could (in their mind) look down on certain people
and feel the power of white superiority.
Of course, the only people that approved of those actions were other ignorant, nasty hillbillies.
..or to put it in this time ...The Villages in central Florida. If you ever happen to be in that area ...Don't..just Don't

I wonder, if the Loyola team had put only black players on the floor would they have been considered 'integrated'? In 1963, I guess they would have.

This is truly unhinged.

And the blue states will soon ban capitalism lol

Unhinged how? You think schools in Floriduh will mention this as part of the civil rights or 60's history curriculum?
I thought you were suggesting they would ban their schools from going to events with mixed races. My bad.

?? No .... the blue states actually make the best of capitalism. They have higher wages, higher standards of living, better education, higher real estate prices, and a larger % of their federal taxes actually goes to the entitled red states.

There is like a 20% minority of democrats in the villages. There was a story on 60 minutes about it. All those golf carts, LOL!

This is an urban legend. Once adjusted for cost of living, many red states are doing better than the big time blues like Cali and NY.

Yeah .... dream on. No legend - just fact. If they're doing better, then why are they mooching off blue states?

Makes total sense.

No it's a fact.

Alabamians are more affluent than new Yorkers or Cali.
And it's not even close.

So you thing Florida and red states are going to bring back segregation despite the fact that it's leftist groups in colleges supporting the idea of black only graduations and dormitories?

There already is segregation it's on the left it's strictly a left wing thing and it always has been.

When do you predict Florida will ban integrated sports?

No, learning about it.

Some people did some things to other people for no apparent reason. The end.......

No, learning about it.
You never know but I meant learning about it in school.
Are you talking about they should learn about this basketball game?

Why should people learn about it I mean I learned about segregation and I never heard of this. If they only graduate to go to college that it forces segregation what's the point?
