The Zarqawi kill has led to over 400 raids on terrorists, weapons caches, funds, and a treasure trove of intelligence on Al Queda in Iraq. This was the devastating blow we’ve been waiting for. A huge portion of the forces conducting the raids from Zarqawi’s safe house were Iraqi military...They are getting closer to taking control of their own country.

Contrary to incessant media negativity, things are sharply looking up in Iraq. One document that emerged from the safe house went on about how close the insurgency is to total collapse.

The deficit has been significantly cut (nearly in half), Bush’s poll numbers are back up in the 40’s, and again, despite incessant media negativity, the economy is doing amazingly well.

So where would we be if John Kerry had been elected? Well, he just moved (again) to retreat and withdraw the troops from Iraq. The move was defeated 93-6 in the Senate. This is why people don’t vote for Democrats anymore.

He would have kept his election promise to stay the course. But now that he has decided to run again, he is branding himself, instead of mod-liberal, a ravishing liberal who will follow in Teddy's footsteps...either very smart, or very stupid.

Specify which Teddy, please. The lardass that parks in water, or the one that dug a canal?

The deficit has been cut in half from what? The worst year under Bush? It was a surplus when he took office, that is something to brag about?

Total Debt has increased over $400 billion so far this fiscal year, and we have more than a quarter to go.

The one who espouses liberal ideals out of the state of Massachusetts. Ted Kennedy.

That is who I thought, just that TR also went against his word, but had good reason to do so. Lardass? He wrecked the car in the Chappaquidick so hard, he knocked the poor girls panties in the glove box.
Slug.

Yeah, what is he talking about. I think he is using the good old Supply Sidder fuzzy math of "the deficit growth rate as a percentage of GDP is 50% of what it was last year". Which of course is a far cry from the deficit being cut in half.

Moreover, this "the insurgency is near collapse", we have certainly heard that before. How would Zarqawi know anyway? Al Qaeda represents only about 5% of the insurgency in Iraq. The rest is homegrown.

Thats funny. Personally, I like the one who dug the canal better.

The Democrats want to run like a Massechusetts Senator 5 minutes before the liquor store closes.

Not bad, eh?

No offense meant, Shamol, only making the point that he swore there was no hanky panky going on. Yeah, right.

As for which Teddy was better, Roosevelt was leagues above Kennedy.

Not as bad as supporting the person who killed her.

Actually, he was right, he was talking about this.

No, he said a 50% reduction in the deficit this year, not a 50% reduction in deficit growth. Moreover, the economy is cyclical, more than likely regardless of who is in office or the economic policies in effect, we are probably not going to maintain the kind of economic growth necessary long enough to cut the deficit in half without more revenue sources because of inflation fears. That is one of the biggest holes in the Supply Side theory. Even if they were right, that by marginally cutting taxes, economic growth would be such as to offset the revenue reductions, which there is no empirical evidence at all to suggest that is the case, the problem is that the Feds on the monetary side are only going to let the economy grow so fast because of inflation fears.
