Some conservatives are starting to realize blocking Merrick Garland is a big mistake

Re: Some conservatives are starting to realize blocking Merrick Garland is a big mist

Why would they put an anti-gun liberal on the bench to avoid another anti-gun liberal being put on the bench?

Sure, they are likely going to get a bullet in their foot, but there is no good reason conservatives should shot themselves in the foot.

It was always a gamble on both the next Presidency and the disposition of the next 115th Congress. Well, now it looks like Hillary will do the nominating and Republican Senate control is uncertain.

even if a republican senate under hillary, you think americans will tolerate no SCOTUS replacements for *another* 4-8 years? And at that point, SCOTUS itself will step in and declare the senate's inaction unconstitutional. Besides, in mcconell's own words the next president should pick that replacement. That would include hillary. Although reading more on that, it has to be the most bull**** excuse ever - "we think americans should have a say in this." They did have a say when they elected obama! The president serves 4 year terms, not 3

and even donald trump would pick someone similar to garland, so this unprecedented selfishness on their part can only backfire
