Not even logical.Arm the teachers some say, harden the schools others say and I say none of it is necessary. I suggest at seven a.m. every prison or jail in america sends all of their inmates outside for the day and then we bus our kids into the jails and prisons for their day at school and at the end of the day the prisoners go back to their 'normal' lives.
We can't get much safer than schools in prisons. Who is going to get in there to shoot up the kids?
About as logical as the response to any mass shooting of “hmmm needs more guns.”Not even logical.

But funnyNot even logical.
See post #4.Unfortunately tighter security at all schools with the federal government footing the bill is an answer....
1. more than one security officer at every school and grocery store
2. all doors locked so no one comes in WITHOUT being searched before class and most certainly during class hours.
3. Security officers should not be in uniform ........
4. Local law enforcement should be dispatched to schools during arrival times and end of school day to observe the outdoor perimeters extensively.
5. Most importantly take all assault weapons off the market ........
6.WHO is influencing these shooters?????????????
We could stop education at schools entirely and use online/computers to educate our children. That would stop school shootings.Arm the teachers some say, harden the schools others say and I say none of it is necessary. I say there is nothing to worry about. Teenagers pick up fads all the time, they will get bored with this soon enough and move on.Arm the teachers some say, harden the schools others say and I say none of it is necessary. Bored with their friends getting killed or they themselves getting shot? I don't think anyone gets over that "fad".I say there is nothing to worry about. Teenagers pick up fads all the time, they will get bored with this soon enough and move on.
Are you kidding? It's exactly what many republicans are suggesting we do only we don't have to pay for new buildings and hire a buncha new guards. Not even logical.
How about seek a solution from the past. Introduce conscription and russia can do for this generation of teenagers what vietnam did for its generation.Bored with their friends getting killed or they themselves getting shot? I don't think anyone gets over that "fad".
I have no idea what it is you are trying to say. Tell me in "simple words". I am stupidHow about seek a solution from the past. Introduce conscription and russia can do for this generation of teenagers what vietnam did for its generation.

Although it has been reported that Robb Elementary school had a good security plan; a security plan is only as good as its followed.I work at a school that had a shooting three years ago. Tons of protections have been put in place. Bulletproof glass, tons of cameras, auto-locking doors, etc. Unfortunately, every day I see ways a determined shooter could cause havoc.
You're right, everyone touting turning schools into jails is foolish.

Lots of electronics would be assistance however I am talking at least 3 active bodies NOT IN UNIFORM on the grounds patrolling which I believe would be more effective. Yes to electronic surveillance as well.Unfortunately tighter security at all schools with the federal government footing the bill is an answer....

Because 95% of the people who are responsible for "protecting" schools are educators and students, not highly trained security personnel. Stop kidding yourself, teachers and kids slip through security measures EVERY SINGLE DAY.Although it has been reported that Robb Elementary school had a good security plan; a security plan is only as good as its followed.
I want to know how the shooter was able to enter an unmanned door at the back of the school. The door should have been locked.
My children have been out of high school now for 10+ years prior to the Sandy Hook shooting and every door was locked and it was a large campus as it contained Jr High on one side and HS on the other. The front door had a camera and you had to ring the bell to get in and were directed to the front office to sign in by a security guard who was a retired police officer. I am not saying it was fool proof; but there was never an incidentBecause 95% of the people who are responsible for "protecting" schools are educators and students, not highly trained security personnel. Wow. I am not being argumentative but locking doors do not need trained professionalsDoes that change the truth of my post? 95% of the people responsible for the day-to-day tasks needed to secure schools are educators and students and are not trained security professionals
Sure you are. You posted your anecdote about your kid's school from 10 years ago as 'evidence". I posted my anecdote about my school which had a mass shooting three years ago and still has security lapses.Wow. I am not being argumentative but locking doors do not need trained professionals
The OP itself is a joke. My answer was a joke. You could not see that?My impression from reading the op of this thread is that the object is to seek a really absurd way of dealing with mass shootings.
