Soldier Weeps Describing Role in Rape and Killings in Iraq

World Champs, I have found CurrentAffairs's behavior regarding this whole incident...hmmmmm....how should I say this?...atypical and rather perplexing. He has gotten very defensive about the following: (1) my disgust towards this one incident about which I posted, (2) how rape is crime of power and not sex, and (3) my failure to post about the honorable service our military does on a daily basis. WTF???

I find item #2 perplexing, in light of items number one and three.
How can someone be so enlightened in one area, and so clueless in others?

Hopefully NP will come out and defend this poor girl who will probably be scarred for the rest of whatever natural life she has left.

It's sad to see events like these happen. They tend to fuel the minds those crazy people that disrespect the troops and use any excuse to try and tarnish their image. It wont take long for that sort of people to come out and invade a thread like this one. I'm willing to bet they'll do it before post #15. Care to make that wager?
Never forget it was George Bush and the Republicans who put our great troops in an impossible and terrible situation.

Instead of telling others what to post why don't you post what you asked of her? C'mon post stories about the great success that is Iraq...go for it!
Lying again, eh champs? I never told her to post anything. I invited her to show the other side, which she declined. Thanks for trying.

C'mon post stories about the great success that is Iraq...go for it!
Well, if you insist.

Multi-National Force - Iraq - Iraqis, Wolfhounds build relationship to achieve success

HAWIJA — When they arrived six months ago, they knew success in their area of operation would hinge on integrating Iraq’s tribal culture. For centuries, tribal sheiks have influenced the social, economic and political landscape of the predominantly Arab southern portion of the Kirkuk Province.
So they began the arduous process of building relationships. Six months later, Wolfhound Soldiers of the 25th Infantry Division’s 3rd Brigade Combat Team are achieving their goals of a more secure and peaceful region one city at a time.

Multi-National Force - Iraq - Daily Stories

BAGHDAD — “Face time.” It seems to be a term used more by celebrities than Soldiers, but as Iraqi Army and Police go on patrols with Coalition forces, “face time” is something one unit is saying is very important to their mission of capturing the bad guys.

On what’s become a normal patrol mission in Baghdad’s northwest Al-Doura neighborhood, Company C, 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division Soldiers are using the results of their “face time” to help catch the enemy.

Multi-National Force - Iraq - Ramadi mayor solving problems

AR RAMADI – Ten city directors and representatives met with the mayor here Monday to discuss city problems and solutions.
The meeting was the second of its kind to be held since the appointment of Mayor Latif Obaid Ayadah in early January, and served as a forum for the leaders.

Representatives from Ramadi’s water department, sewage and sanitation department, electricity department, municipality department, and a few supervisors of other areas attended the morning meeting.

The collection of professional leaders addressed a variety of topics during the meeting, all focused on increasing the quality of life for Ramadi citizens.

Multi-National Force - Iraq - Convergence of forces working in al-Doura

BAGHDAD — In the southern Baghdad neighborhood of al-Doura, shops are beginning to open and people are starting to walk the streets.
Fear is beginning to disperse.

“We’ve dropped the violence down to near nothing (in al-Doura),” Maj. Gen. James Thurman, commander of Multi-National Division – Baghdad, told the Los Angeles Times. “We’ve got a positive trend happening, but it’s the will of the Iraqi people that we need to encourage.”

So the only positive stories you can find are from the US government run website? You're unable or incapable of providing links to independent sites and stories?

What you posted is not non-partisan and it is propaganda. I'm not saying the stories are untrue but I am saying they are propaganda and not independently written...just like when Bush spent taxpayer money to produce phony news stories and paid "journalists" to plant made up stories...

How about some NON-PARTISAN, INDEPENDENT news?

Yes, and isn't it interesting that these stories are all factual (as you said, you're not denying their validity) and yet they are not given any coverage in the mainstream news? I suppose you see nothing partisan about that, right?

There is all kinds of good coming from Iraq, but you won't find it at CNN.com.

As I suspected you're copping out, again. You make all of these claims yet when a simple request is made to post your side of the debate from a non-partisan non-propaganda site you cut and run, again.

The mere fact that you actually believe that EVERY mainstream media site is out to get you and your BFF Bush speaks volumes for your ability to be objective.

Don't you think it's paranoid to believe that CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, NBC, Newsweek, Time, US News & World Reports, The New Yorker, The NY Times, The Wash. Post etc. etc. refuse to publish positive stories about Iraq?

I honestly don't know why you even bother with him, World Champs. Frankly, it's just not worth it.

Rebutting posts that I consider untruthful and that attempt to portray a false reality is important to me regardless of the individual poster.

It galls me when people post how partisan the entire media is and when they do so without exception.

I find it stunning and shocking that anyone can look at Iraq and actually believe that any progress is being made and that there is a conspiracy to suppress "good news".

That type of stinkin thinkin is equivalent to saying that you're not a patriot if you do not support the Iraq war. That you're a traitor if you speak out against the war, against Bush and Cheney etc.

Posters who throw that sh!t out onto this board should be rebutted because they're spreading hate and untruths. They actually have the balls to suggest that people who protest the President and the war are hurting our country! That is not an argument I can tolerate and allow to go unanswered....

I see what you mean. While I doubt you could impact his thinking (not because you're NOT persuasive and accurate but because he is truly blinded by his hatred for the left and anyone who doesn't see things the way he does), you could impact someone else's thinking. I thought you did a beautiful job pointing out how ridiculous it is when people make statements that all media is essentially a left-wing conspiracy. LOL

Thanks :3oops:

I'm not trying to alter the far right wingers opinions in this Forum because that's impossible. However, in theory at least, there are many people who read these threads whose opinions can be enlightened by articulate posts that express the alternative point of view that the far right here tries to intimidate onto all of us.

Think about it? Bush's best political tool since he took office has been fear. If fear had been removed from the 2004 campaign he would have lost. He used propaganda to scare people into voting for him. The hard core Bushies here try to do the same thing today. They employ fear tactics to try to make their point of view valid.

Hell, Bush, Cheney & Rice are still saber rattling today only now it's Iran. They've figured out that Iraq can't be used to scare people into believing them anymore so now they're machine is working overtime to make Iran the latest focal point for their fear agenda.

All the major news media outlets are controlled by huge corporations, hardly left wing organizations, if you think the people who work for these huge corporations do not know who signs their pay checks you are living in a dream world. Try and grow up some day.

Maybe you or champs could point out where I said "all media".

Once again, I can't help that you are so jealous of all that. You'll get another chance in 2008. Happy voting.

Yes, why debate when it's so much easier to just belittle the other person?

So let us recap. You ask for stories. I provide them. Still isn't good enough.

Perhaps you could show me where I said "EVERY" mainstream outlet. Or could you be a full of ***** partisan liar? Hmm?

I have stood right in here and debated champs, so quit with your FU**ing lies. I have not (and will not) cut and run.

Hmm...looks like I hit a nerve, pushed a button, popped a vein and got your panties in a bunch....

I asked you for a NON-GOVERNMENT, NON-PROPAGANDA site to prove your point and you cut and ran from the challenge. Your response was to personally attack me instead of responding with website proof.

I think the way we've prosecuted the war sucks and I think Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice and their robots are responsible for the disaster that is Iraq. I think Bush put soldiers into a position to go berserk and while he is not responsible for their crimes (they most definitely are the murders) he is the one who made up all sort of bullshit to start the war that made the soldiers go to Iraq that put them in a position to go crazy....and that's news and that's not being reported on the website you used, they buried this story and all stories about soldiers getting killed and maimed....

From where I'm typing a government run website that portrays the Iraq war as all positive is a disgrace, a disease, a diabolical plot by Bushies to keep the truth away from the American public.

Rebut that CurrentAffairs...but you can call me an as$hole all you want because I know that everytime you do I'm winning the debate....

Yes, actually you have. But not from anything you have said. I am upset at this very forum. Because I am sick of the free pass you get around here. Always picking fights. Always spewing your flame baits. Always pushing the limits and always getting a free pass. That's why you suck, champs, and that's why this forum is suffering from the cancer you provide for it.

At Debate Politics people of different political beliefs debate with passion. When one side makes a claim it is common and usual to be challenged by the other side to prove what they claim with links to sites that are non-partisan and factual.

That is what I asked of you. Show any non-partisan site, anyone you choose to back what you wrote yet all you've done is attack me personally rather than debate me. It seems when you're unable to prove your side of the argument you attack the messenger....which I find oh so interesting.

Thanks for the nice words...now how about debating me with some facts? Can you pull yourself off the floor and do that?

My friend don't let him get to you....That is what he is trying to do.......The only people that really pay any attention to him are the people that worship at the altar of Cindy Sheehan and Michael Moore.......

I rarely respond to anything he posts............Its all just personal attacks and insults........

I provided all kinds of articles, champs. If you can't accept them, there is nothing I can do. You asked for good stories coming out of Iraq. When I provided them, you added your own caviat rule...."no, CA, what I really meant was anything other than the articles you found." Screw you, Champs. Your game is old. Gloat in the lonliness of your hate, but it really doesn't matter to me.

Thanks for the nice words. How about debating this thread? The soldiers that have been convicted and sentenced are a direct reflection of Bush's decision to attack Iraq. Without the war this would not have happened.

Bush et al is indirectly responsible for the rapes, murders, maimings and hatred that has been generated in Iraq by Iraqis and by American soldiers.

Nowhere near all of our soldiers are evil like the bastards who committed these crimes but Bush is evil and he instigated our troops to the breaking point. He put them in a position to kill and rape and Bush's policies in Iraq will be his legacy and ultimately his place in history will always be scarred by the immense mistake he made by starting a needless and worthless war.

You provided propaganda. If I posted links to Democratic Underground or Michael Moore you would not take them as non-partisan or fair and the links you provided fall into that category.

The truth is that you're unable to come up with anything to support what you've written except from the government run propaganda website and I've exposed that as an invalid example. Instead of rebutting my contention you continue to attack me which I must say is just so amusing and enjoyable.

How about getting back on track and showing us some good news stories reported by mainstream media in 2007? That cannot be an impossible assignment CurrentAffairs and I'm confident that you can do it!

and I'm confident you can kiss my ***. Gloat if you must, but your free pass to bait and incite won't last forever.
