Soccer Villains... named here! (1 Viewer)

Funny list, and has many of the "bad boys" of football.. but gets some very wrong.

Samuel Etoo

In addition to headbutting and spitting on opponents, allegedly headbutting his agent, and publicly insulting his former club, Real Madrid, as "bastards," the Cameroonian striker has also been charged with wreckless driving and accused of threatening to kill a journalist. The bastard.

Hardly a "bad boy" compared to the others on the list. First off he is young still (24) and people do stupid things during thier youth. Reckless driving.. give me a break.. headbutting and getting into fights ... that makes him a bad boy? As for calling his former club Real Madrid bastards.. well they were to him. The way they treated him was horrible even for spanish standards. First they sign him as a young talent, but then ship him off to another first division team (the team bought half of his contract) where he became top scorer 2 or 3 years in a row and then Real Madrid blocks his multi million dollar sale to arch rival Barcelona for months, dispite knowing that the team he was playing for wanted to sell plus the player himself wanted to goto Barcelona and the fact that the player would never ever want to return to Real Madrid in any way or form due to the treatment he recieved while there. He is in fact know today as one of the best strikers in the world and one of the most fair players on the pitch.

4. Zinédine Zidane
The three-time FIFA World Player of the Year was sent off a staggering 14 times in his career for offences ranging from stomping to headbutting. Zizou's greatest moment came in the 2006 World Cup final when the French midfield maestro "headchestbutted" Italian defender Marco Materazzi after he presumably made some "Yo Mama" joke.

Another bullshit placement. Sure he has about 3 or 4 times lost his cool during his long career, but what player has not? Hardly makes him a bad boy. Not to mention he is still seen as an idol and role model, promoting many charities, being UN ambassador (same goes for Etoo) and so on.

And finally

3. Paolo di Canio
The Italian hothead cemented his bad boy rep in 1998 when he pushed a referee to the ground after being sent off in an English league game. More controversy ensued in 2005 when he made Fascist salutes to fans after his team, Lazio, beat arch-rivals Roma.

While he is a bad boy, no doubt about that, he is also one of the fairest players ever to play the game. In the mid 90s he played in the UK, where an opponent went down very hurt while di Canio's team were attacking and were frankly in a very good position to score. He saw the player hurting badly and picked up the ball (which is not allowed) so the ref could stop the game and the player could get treatment. Normaly the ref cant stop the game unless the ball goes out of play or there is a foul or goal. While I detest the mans poltical views, that day will always be remembered as the good part of football for what he did.

But for all on the list, one thing is very consistant (with the exception of the american on the list), all were some of the best and most talentfull players in the game for the positions they played.

And its Football, not soccer :)

Soccer?

Isn't that the game where a bunch of primadonnas in shorts prance about a field for what seems like an eternity without actually accomplishing anything by way of scoring and so the game is inevitably decided by a series of kicks after they have finally decided that such senselssness was too boring for even them?

That soccer?

Oh, those bad boys!

Where the hell is Materazzi?

I'd of thought he'd be #1.

Cool nice one!

This list is really funny! quite interesting huh!
