I (and many others), would say we really don't. Actually the waste and malfeasance and pig outs at the public trough suggest we don't, since 'we' the collective we would NEVER have voted for such behavior.

'We' didn't authorize many of the (waste) expenses our elected, appointed and clerical or department heads choose to expend on personal agendas and self serving objectives.

I-we, never had a say in the political ploys and patronage costing billions in our Ontario government follies. E Health, Gas plant chess, Ornge etc.

I never had a say in allowing the continued sale of contraband tobacco, the governments ignoring insurrection in Caledonia, adding pre kindergarten, bribing teachers, Liberal green energy debacle etc.

When our dollars are taken in taxes we have a democratic RIGHT to expect they will be treated as our money, not some Wallin or Duffy type trough to pa expenses from. Not for an Oda glass of 'royalty entitlement' juice!

when the Feds run a G20 or G8 we have every right to expect them to keep costs(location/security and pork) in line by consideration that it is OUR MONEY they are expending, not a wish list contingency fund!

When a job needs filling, an employee hired a contract negotiated, the impact on the tax payer,THE SOURCE OF THE Revenue to be expended should be of the first priority. The sheer magnitude of the size and cost of government demands due diligence from our representatives, appointees and administrators.

Further, those that fail their responsibility to the tax payer and electorate need be dealt with accordingly, not with a wrist slap, but with the full extent of the
authority..resignation..fine..criminal court.

If we are to consider our selves as a Democracy, we need our leaders, officials and appointees to understand the term accountability.
IT IS OUR MONEY!

Our democracy is as good as any other, and I'd dare say, one of the best in the world. The problem lies with crooked politicians getting themselves elected by playing the gullible and playing the system once they're in power. Harper is a prime example, him and is entire cabinet, (with maybe the exception of John Baird.) Harper and his cronies have played the system and have tried to been as opaque with their shifty business as possible.

Harper is the problem, not the Liberals, NDP, or Conservatives.

Most of his cabinet is not crooked.

I believe our Democracy is as good as or better than the rest, however it still needs to represent the electorate, the people, taxpayers and citizens, not primarily the political agenda of the officials.
I agree with part of your opinion, but there are many more to celebrate in the cabinet..Kenny etc.
I do hope the appointees, Wallin, Duffy et al, will bring down the wrath of the people on the Senate.
Tell me how the Liberals represented the publics interests..they did what suited them, their agenda, and it cost us billions in waste. Both Provincial and Federal.

Harper might be seen as your problem. Harper is certainly to be criticized as is any official, but overall he's been better for the country than Cretien and the sponsorship scandal waste. But he's not my problem, he's basically on the right path in my book.

Still I do criticize him when I disagree. G20...Pork by Clement, etc.

Kenny and Clement are quite possibly the worst. Even though all of it, people still want the Liberals instead of Hudak and the PCs.

As much as I dislike the Liberals and Wynne, I'll take anyone over Hudak.

A typical response from a voter that votes with their emotion-irrational judgment rather than common sense I would suggest. Given the screwing we have received by the Ontario Liberals- billions in waste and lies, it is inconceivable to me that any sentient being would vote for them because they don't like (for unspecified reason) the leader of another party. Not his policies, not his program, but Hudak himself?

That's how incompetent governments get in, vote against a party leader take the consequences as in re electing McGuinty. We can't afford more of the same and Wynne is lying through her teeth on the gas plant(s) issue.

At least give an explantion and rational explanation on your position. Otherwise you appear rather jejune and politically bereft of insight.

Tim Hudak is the same man who earlier this year rejected the Liberal budget without even having read it. That sort juvenile attitude is not something I desire.

As well, I never said I'd vote Liberal.

Well, the NDP alternative is as bad, they'd break us with socialist policies. Further the NDP is keeping the Liberal liars and the malfeasant government in power!
Ontario NDP Leader Andrea Horwath props up Kathleen Wynne's Liberal minority government. The NDP are enabling the Liberals staying in power.

List of Ontario Liberal Premier Dalton McGuinty's Scandals with Details... | jackandcokewithalime

Without a doubt, Dalton McGuinty is the most scandal-plagued, tax-spend-and-waste, unethical, integrity-deficient Premier that Ontario has ever had in its entire history

As for Hudak rejecting the Liberal budget, since the Ontario Liberals rejected most of the suggestions from the study

Ontario Liberals hire consultant to cut costs at $ 1500/day then reject most of the advice. (Don Drummond report). Why would ANYONE wait to hear another crock of lies like the "I WON"T RAISE TAXES."

So you think Hudak's sensible stand on the Liberal budget is THE reason you'd not vote for him? Astounding. I commend him for his honesty.

In all reality, I will not make a decision yet. We are still a ways off until the next provicial election, and will continue to scan news and events and read platforms. I will make my decisions later. I will not dismiss Hudak, but he is not very high on my probability list. But, as it has been proven time and time again, that can change. We'll see.

There are the Liberals with a decade history of lies, malfeasance an waste in the billions. The NDP with little to offer beyond socialistic expenditure and kow towing to unions, or the untried Tim (bits) Hudak. I suggest voting for the lesser of the known evils.
