As the title has been expressed, no, not really, and, yes, in a manner of speaking. There are plenty of faith-based tenets (and corresponding practices) that I think deserve no respect whatsoever. I'm okay with condoning the faith-based belief systems of which I'm fairly familiar; however, I cannot say the same of some of the folks who allege to cleave to some of those same systems.
