What do I refer too? Why it's D-DAY for the "Obama is not a natural born US Citizen!" folks.

Personally, I just cannot imagine that he made it to this point, and is NOT in fact a natural born American. It boggles the mind that he could go so far without some proof that he was born elsewhere.

HOWEVER, that's not the discussion I wish to get into. Let's discuss this not on the issue of Obama's actual citizenship, but on how the SCOTUS will act on the issue.

The most likely outcome is that they find some reason to ignore it. If they take up the case, they look petty, if they do not... well the media isn't gonna rake them over the coals.

Personally, if I were on the Court, I'd just say "You will provide the document in question. Period." If Obama refused I'd then do everything the Court can to make his life hell. It's one thing to be stubborn, it's another to carry it on to this level.

However, should his BC come out through this method, I think it would weaken him a little. The flipside being, enough all ready, why WON'T he release it. It's the fact he refuses to that irks me.

This type of attitude is EXACTLY what is wrong with our political discourse in this country. You have a totally classless left that relishes in making every slight possible against their opponents, right down to laughing and shrugging off reasonable requests just because they think they are entitled to be so smarmy and smug.

The more I watch the behavior of the left in the aftermath of getting their guy elected, the more I am convinced that liberals are genetically predisposed to being thuggish assholes without an ounce of dignity or class between the lot of them. Instead of Obama's election being a celebration of change and new direction in America, it has been more of the same with the left acting as if they now have some kind of carte blanch to act like the petty lowlifes that we have always known them to be.

Lives were lost, but let's protect Bush and you want to crucify Obama for a Birth certificate he has already shown.

Hey, newsflash: Bush leaves office in about a month. This has nothing to do with Bush. This has to do with OBAMA having to go all the way to the SCOTUS instead of just showing a piece of documentation upon request that any other American would have to show in the course of regular day to day business.

I don't really care about the birth certificate itself. In fact, I am pretty happy with the idea of Obama as president. What does concern me is the attitude of entitlement and rebellion against a simple request. It's not that big a deal; just show the goddamned birth certificate and put it all behind him instead of eating up court resources being an obtuse dick about it.

I'll be so glad when Bush leaves office just for the simple fact that the left will have to find some new song and dance for their same ol' same ol' blame game that we get to hear day in and day out. If the left spent more time actually doing something and less time caterwauling and crying about the right, perhaps we would be in a better position now.

Obama has never been requested by any court to produce a birth certificate, or even fought about it, to my knowledge.

He has posted his birth certificate on the website for all to see.

The state of Hawii officials responsible for maintaining birth certificates have authority over the original, and have publicly stated they have it and it is authentic.

How exactly has Obama been an obtuse dick about it?

You don't think having to take it to the highest court in the land before producing the original is being obtuse? I find it hard to believe that he was never required to produce the original before now.

But like I said, I couldn't care less about it. I just wish he would put the whole thing to rest. I do hope SCOTUS says, "produce the document now, period". Then the whole thing would be behind us.

Why would Obama have the orginal? How do you know he could even take the original if he wanted it? Where has be been previously required to produce it? He has produced it on his website. To whom else should he have produced it?

I dunno, I have an original of my birth certificate. All it takes is a request to the county records office. For it to be an original, all it takes is for it to have the seal stamped on it. That should be sufficient to put it to rest for any sane and reasonable person.

I'm not inclined to accept a copy on a website, however.

My question for Jall and for everyone else interested in his BC: why wasn't his posting a scan of it, or the official in Hawaii confirming his being a natural-born citizen, enough?
 

A threat about OBAMA? I think you totally missed where I said I am pretty happy with the idea of him as president. I'm not sure how much clearer I can get that across.

I am satisfied with all that. But obviously enough of a case has been made to take it to the highest court in the land. I dunno about you, but I tend to respect the courts. Just produce the damned thing and be done with it.
