Trump has now claimed that Cohen's prosecutors, people whom Trump appointed, are trying to embarrass him.
Maybe they are; maybe they aren't. Either way, if that's truly what one believes, the thing to do is not dignify their remarks, the ones one presumes they made for that purpose, by responding to them. To the extent one does respond to them, one gives them credence, "air," and doing that, particularly if one's rebuttals are, as are Trump's, puerile.
Moreover, by responding to stuff one thinks absurd and merely mentioned to malign one's reputation, one abets the fruition of one's detractors' ends to embarrass one. If few to no folks were of a mind that embarrassing one was another's aim, once one posits that be others' aim, one, most especially one having a presidential "megaphone," one impels others to consider whether one is right, thereby inviting greater risk that observers now conclude that one deserves to be shamed.
Lastly, I find laughable the notion of anyone doing something to shame Trump. There's little to no evidence the man is capable of that emotion, and I can't be the only person who's noticed that.
