So Now that Republicans have done this!!

If I had to guess, it'd be Social Security. To "negotiate" on funding or reform (aka privatizing) or Medicare (again, to "negotiate" on provisions, they say...to gut it so it will wither on the vine, as they've said before).

they've had since 1935 do do what you think they will do... so why hasn't it been done yet?

( the real answer is that your fears and the fears of the OP are completely unfounded)

Obama has already compromised on "chained CPI" and enraged his base.
All it did was wipe out whatever increase my Mother got.
Thanks BHO.
Just sit on the broom and let them break it off again and twist and turn on the way out.

I believe I may have communicated with you about Vegas.
I'll be there soon but will have to hit state parks on the way home.
I don't expect an agreement until Oct.17th, +/- a few days with more fall-out then 2011.
Btw, I'm quite serious about the Sen. Coburn plan from 2011 that balances the budget.
yes, there is...

now stop whining and get to chatting

well, if the math isn't working out in your favor... just change the way you do the math .

i thougt Pelosi was very funny on the topic of chained CPI.... she said
“We have to learn more about it,” Pelosi, D-Calif., said. “Do you feel comfortable talking about chained CPI? Do you know all of the ramifications of it, I mean, to the extent that you have an appreciation for what it does and what it does not do?

funny how Pelosi suddenly wants to figure something out before they pass it...too bad that **** doesn't count for policies favored by Democrats, though

Patriotism isn't about loving your government... it never has been.

and really, don't lecture me on patriotism... you're barking up the wrong tree.
find a socialist, they ****ing hate this country... lecture them about patriotism.

So you would still call yourself a patriot if the Germans had won WWII? You would love this country just as much under German rule? You don't feel the American way of life has anything to do with Govt.?
I don't think Paul Revere would agree.

You have great love for Pelosi, Feinstein and Boxer?

i've been trying to get back to Vegas for a few months...I feel the need for some poker and Prime Rib... and i have to look for a new ops manager
I'm thinking the end of the month i'll be there.

if it actually balances the budget... count it out, it's not gonna happen.
a few individuals in congress want a balanced budget, but the majority doesn't

What is unique, eh? Well it is being engineered by Cantor and Dems haven't caught on yet.
I'd pay to see Reid and Boehner box.
I'd also pay to see Cantor and any Dem woman in the Octagon in Vegas.
what is unique about this shutdown?

You have great love for Pelosi, Feinstein and Boxer?

I have not one ounce of love for any of them.... not a shred.

especially Fienstien, though...it'll be a good day when that putrid bitch meets her maker.

I'm a Lincoln Democrat and even I see the brilliance with Coburn's plan.
Since it was 8 for 1, Norquist and the TEAtards rejected it out-of-hand.
Which is why Coburn waited until after the 2010 election to put it out.
Remember at the debate when the RepubleeClowns all rejected a 10 for 1 swap.
How do you compromise with that?

i won't be able to convince you that patriotism is loving your country...and you won't be able to convince me that patriotism is loving your government.

wait until a Republican is back in the white house, you'll lose your patriotism in a New York minute.... then we'll rehash this topic.

Unlike some, I have faith in my govt. and in the voters that protect it. Bush was quite a test with one failure after another ending in financial collapse and a lost decade. But the voters took notice and they will in 2014 and beyond too. I hope you really whooped it up back then because it will be a long, long time before a Republican is President again. You might as well get used to it. .

Christie began his slow tack to the right yesterday by digging at Obama that they would not get out of a meeting, like today, without an agreement.
The Paul vs. Christie heavyweight match will be better than the POTUS election.
IMO, Repub rules, like open primaries and proportional allotment favor Christie.
Paul has been quiet in this fracas to not get muddied.
And I'll be contributing to Julian Castro to castrate Cruz in the 2018 Senate election.

A narrow margin of people elected him. To the 48% who didn't...we got the middle finger. I guess 0bama really only cares about the ones who swore eternal loyalty to him.

Narrow margin lol!!!! He still won and it wasn't that narrow. I know Fox told all the righties Romney had it in the bag. Obama won AHA is hear to stay. deal with it or win elections to repeal it other wise quit holding the country hostage. The point is what next on the debt ceiling holding hostage for abolishment of Abortion?

I was discussing the popular vote. 51% to 49% is narrow.

They said the same thing about slavery, segregation, and even alcohol sales.

you "point" has no merit...... well unless you are talking about Democrats shutting down the government over abortion funding... there's precedent for them doing that.

it's pretty funny though... ya'll are probably too young to remember when Democrats repeatedly shut down government when Reagan was in office.

I'd be fine with Republicans never being President again... i'd be jumping for joy if neither Democrats nor Republicans were ever President again.

I like the way you sugarcoat your opinion of the Bush years... lefties like you had, and still have, a seething hatred for the Bush years.

Since the Republicans have shut down the government over AHA and are pretty happy with their fit throwing. The next time what will they shut down Government for, my guess is to outlaw Abortion or Ban same sex marriage. Any thought on this because if this is how the business of America is going to be handled then we are all in big trouble.
Oh shush.

This is exactly why the President and the Senate MUST stonewall these anarchist assholes.
